5.0 out of 5 stars 究極のベスト盤がここに, 2005/7/7
　企画段階でUltimateBestという名前だったのがこのアルバム。Ultimateという言葉に違わない、レコード会社の壁を越えて集めた、渾身の2枚組みだ。

　ネットで意見を募って選曲というプロセスも面白い（SpecialThanksの対象となっているORETACHI-RANKIN-ZOKUがそれ)。

　ベスト盤としては3作目にあたり、重複曲もあるが、現時点で考えられるベストとして妥協をしなかったためだ。しかし、入手困難な音源も含まれているので、スーパー・ランキン・タクシーや全発言記録集を持っていても十分楽しめるはずだ。

　ジャパ・レゲがバブリーな盛り上がりを見せている今こそ、オリジネーターを押さえておきたい。すべてはここから始まった。

少し毒気をへらし気味だが、ランキンおじさんの魅力は充分に伝わる２枚組ベスト。

最近の作品に比べると少し劣る気もするが、それでもベストというだけあって聴きやすさ、充実振りは問題ないレベル。

ジャパニーズレゲエの本物を見た。
