何に驚いたって、マシュー・マコノヒーの姿に驚いた。いったい何時から変わったの？「評決の時」「コンタクト」のあの見るからに優しい彼の面影はこれっぽっちもなかった。ストーリーは目の粗いものだったしドラゴンもイマイチ。突っ込みたくなる矛盾いっぱい。しかし私の頭はスキンヘッドで筋肉の塊みたいになってるマコノヒーでいっぱいだった。カッコイイ！！
一方クリスチャン・ベイルもがんばっていた。彼は彼でマコノヒーに負けないくらい筋肉マンだった。「リべリオン」よりカッコよかった。
そこそこ内容を知っての上で見たのだから内容に一切モンクは言うまい。そんなにつまらない出来の作品ではなかったと思う。私にとっては２人の存在で満足できた怪獣映画。

　制作費120億円？そんなにお金かけてこの内容かと思う方も多いとは思います。内容も、突っ込みどころ満載のむちゃのあるストーリーですが、私には、それなりに楽しめる点はいくつかありました。

　マシュー・マコノヒーのイメチェンにびっくり。『評決のとき』のイメージが強かったので、今までとは一味違う彼が楽しめます。

　ＤＶＤとしては、ＤＴＳなので迫力のある音声が楽しめます。こういう作品なので、監督の音声解説が聞いてみたかった。

　あまり、考えずに見ると結構楽しめますよ。

性格上、どうしてもドラゴンに肩入れしてしまう自分がそこにいました。だから、この映画を観て心底楽しめることはないだろうと思っていましたが、ドラゴンに肩入れしていない人も消化不良を起こすのではないかと思われます。そーゆう人は「ドラゴン・ハート」を観ればいいわけだ。ジャケットを見た限りではかなりイケるのではないかと思っちゃうし、キャストも豪華です。しかし、資金の問題でジャケットのロンドンで大暴れのドラゴン映像は作れなかったそうです。そう、ジャケットのシーンは無いのです。まるでリメイク版「キングコング」みたいだ。クリスチャン・ベイルの少年時代の母を演じるアリス・クリーグはクエイ兄弟の「ベンヤメンタ学院」からキング原作の「スリープ・ウォーカーズ」までなんでもござれのマニアックな女優さんで、僕的には彼女が見所でした。
