美空ひばりが天才少女と呼ばれていたのは、冒頭のオリジナルの「リンゴ追分」を聴けば納得しますし、ひばりの、というより戦後歌謡史を飾る代表曲ですね。

尺八の藤原道山、サックスのMALTA、オカリナの宗次郎、ヴァイオリンの幸田聡子、はなわちえの三味線、ピアノの樋口あゆ子、フルートの萩原貴子と様々な楽器による「リンゴ追分」に共通しているのは、作曲家米山正夫によって書かれた郷愁溢れる民謡調のメロディとハーモニーの秀逸さですね。何曲も聴き進むに従ってそれが浮き彫りとなって流れています。
ラストを飾る原田芳雄によるライヴでのボーカルもいいですね。アジアの大地をから伝わってきたという雰囲気がこの曲から伝わってきました。そのようなイメージを彷彿とするシャウトでした。

全国に伝わる「追分」のような哀調を帯びた旋律ゆえ、外国のアーティスト、それも様々なジャンルの人が取り上げようとという気にさせるものは確かに存在しています。

作詞者の小澤不二夫による歌詞と間奏で語られる津軽弁のセリフは、ひばりの歌唱力ゆえ、全国津々浦々の人に親しまれたものとなりました。

「リンゴ追分」が世に出てから55年。
オリジナルも含めて14ヴァージョンの演奏や歌を聴きますと、それぞれのこの曲に対する愛情とレスペクトを感じずにはおれません。
