アメリカだけで200万枚売った、ビーチボーイズのベスト版としては最新のものです。
『サーフィン・サファリ』から『ココモ』まで、ビーチボーイズの出したシングルで、全米TOP40以上のヒットに
なったものが30曲収録されています。
そのため、ビーチボーイズファンから評価の高い『サーフズ・アップ』などは収録されていません。
他にも、「どうしてこの曲が入っていなくてこの曲が入っているんだ」という感想を持つことも当然あるでしょう。
しかし、それはビーチボーイズファンからの視点の話で、ビーチボーイズをこれから聴いてみようと思っている
人にはこれ以上ない、最適な入門編です。
まず、音質が素晴らしい。リマスタリングされた楽曲はその素晴らしさと相まって古さを感じさせません。
収録されているのは全てシングル・バージョンなので、アルバムに収録されていた時とはまた違った仕上がり
になっている曲もあります。
それぞれの曲に解説がつき、ビーチボーイズの年表（メンバー誕生から現在まで）もついていて、
ビーチボーイズの歴史や音楽的な進歩・変換も良く分かるようになっています。
また、ビーチボーイズをリスペクトしている日本人ミュージシャンの手書きメッセージもついています。
