豪華ABTメンバーの海賊なのですが見所が多いだけに
細かくチャプターを付けて欲しかったので☆4つ.
とにかく男性ダンサーが充実でイーサン,マラーホフ,コレーラ達が出演しています!!

1幕の三人の奴隷娘の踊りは衣裳も素敵でどのヴァリエーションも個性があって大好きです.
特にジリアン マーフィ
(当時はソリスト)の踊りは必見.
CASTも次から次へとスター ダンサーが登場.
マラーホフのランケンデムは魅力的で面白いです.
しなやかな踊りは勿論ですが...舞台をうろうろしながらの巧みな芝居が絶妙です.パロマ ヘレーラのグルナーラもとてもエキゾチックでやはり回転技は見応えあります.

2幕のパドトロワは凄い盛り上がりでアンヘル コレーラに拍手喝采!!
アリのVariationは魂溢れる力強い踊りが炸裂.
イーサンとジュリー ケントのパドドゥも見所のひとつです.

3幕には華やかな夢の場がありメドゥーラの踊る曲は
ドンキで森の女王のVariationに使用されている音楽です.

実は幕間も豪華.
出演CASTがストーリーを説明してくれるので
初めて御覧になる方でもわかりやすいと思います.

ビルバント/ホアキン・デ・ルース
グルナーラ/パロマ・ヘレーラ
オダリスク/三人の奴隷娘のソリスト　ジリアン・マーフィ・・・とプリンシパル・現プリンシパル総出のキャスティングで非常に見ごたえあります。

アリ（コンラッドの奴隷）役のアンヘル・コレーラとメドーラ（ジュリー・ケント）・コンラッド（イーサン）のバ・ド・トロワが一番の見せ場。またマラーホフがランケンデム（奴隷商人）を演じているのも珍しくも彼の跳躍、踊り＆演技には見入ってしまう魅力があります。またランケンデム役で見られるお茶目な演技もかなりの見所です

衣装デザインも美しいです。楽しくて、豪華なキャスティングで何度も観てしまいます。

幕間にスタッフやダンサーたちがストーリーや作品について解説してくれるのでバレエ初心者でも楽しんで観られます。来日公演に合わせた低価格版（元は6300円でした）からかなりの得。お薦めです！

スターが揃っている。
そして若い。この演目は、若くなければできないし、ある程度のメンバーが揃っていなければ上演できない作品なのであまり現実に舞台を見ることは出来ませんが、今のＡＢＴでは、現在最高水準の「海賊」が見ることが出来ます。
実際に、ジャケットになっているマラーホフは来日しませんでしたが、来日公演もしましたし、男性ダンサー中心のダイナミックなバレエを楽しんでください。
ミーシャ以来この演目でこれだけ楽しいのも久しぶりです。スティーフィルはかっこ良いし、ジュリーケントも良いです。第二幕の有名な「パド・ト・ロワ」は最高です。コレーラへの観客の拍手はすごい。ここはヌレエフが西側に紹介した時は違うパターンでしたが、これはこれでいいと思う。またオーケストラがバレエと息が合っていて観ている分には最高に楽しい舞台です。
また収録会場が陽気なカルフォルニアなんで一層楽しさが伝わってきます。
キーロフの「海賊」と比較すると、また一層楽しめますよ。
