今までズスケ、シェリング、シゲティ、クレーメルといった名盤といわれる演奏をいくつか聴いてきましたが、このフィッシャーの演奏はその名高い演奏家と比べてもまったく引けを取りません。むしろ私にとってはそれ以上です。最初に聴いた時はゆったりとした曲があったり小気味好く進む曲もあったりと、ちょっと面食らいましたが、曲全体のバランスは崩れず安定感があります。また全体を通して非常に丁寧に弾いています。特にシャコンヌに関しては文句のつけようのない出来です。

フィッシャーのヴァイオリンは音色がきれい。そして端正。技巧に秀でていながら、ひけらかさない。解釈は正攻法かつ新鮮。

パルティータ2番のシャコンヌは、私にとって「シャコンヌという形式をもつ小宇宙」というイメージだったが、このフィッシャーの演奏は、比較的テンポが遅く、テンポの揺れが少ないような気がするという点で、単なる「シャコンヌ」すなわち短いテーマによる「変奏」にとどめているという印象。

ユリア・フィッシャーのバッハは、一般的に難解に思われている《無伴奏ヴァイオリンソナタ＆パルティータ》の聴き方を教えてくれる良盤だと思う。2004年12月録音。

これまで彼女のコンサートで、アンコールの定番として何度も聴き、録音されるのを待望していました。Stuttgartで聴いたときは、他の演奏家とは桁違いの大拍手を受けていたのを思い出します。新鮮で、的確で、すばらしい演奏です。DVDの語りもユーモアにあふれ、大いに楽しめました。
