毎回違った音を届けてくれる彼らの新しい音が届いた。これぞロック！といわんばかりの図太い音がぎっしり詰まっている。シングルにもなった(1)から最後の曲まですべての曲において今の彼らの力が感じられる。そしてこの限定版にはDVDが。中身はAll　My　Lifeのクリップなど、しかも音声が5.1ｃｈだというのだからきかないわけにはいかないだろう

02年発表の4thアルバム。

ヘビーなサウンドとポップ感覚のバランスがとれていて、聴いていて気持ちの良いアルバムです。ちなみに私は発売当時1stシングル「All My Life」のPVを見て即買しました。かっこよかったです。

彼らのアルバムはこれ以前の3作までは比較的ポップ調なところがあり、最近の作品はヘビーなものが続いています。そういった意味では近作は両者の橋渡し的な存在かもしれませんね。

Foo Fightersで何から聴いたらよいか迷ったらこのアルバムがお勧めです。

フー・ファイターズ４作目のアルバム。バンドのメンバーもようやく固定して安定したせいか、音楽的にも高度な仕上がりになっている。ポップだった前作と比べて全体的にかなりヘヴィで、一曲目からぶっとばされること間違いなし。バンドの演奏が始まったあとの、歌が始まる部分をヘッドフォンで聞くと、カッティングギターの振り分けが素晴らしい。さらにこの部分は９拍子であり、変拍子を取り入れることによって良い緊張感を生み出している。シングルでも出た４曲目、この曲も７拍子を取り入れており、自分達の音楽に対する姿勢、こだわりというものが見えてくるような気がする。ここまでいい作品に仕上がったのは、不響和音と戦いながらもより複雑に、高度な音楽を目指すというような意気込みが感じられるからで、それでいていい具合のポップさも忘れない、そういうような部分がとても好きだ。音楽の楽しさは、何もポップさだけではなく、楽曲をより複雑化する喜びもあるということを教えてくれる。力強いドラムが素晴らしい２曲目や、デイブらしいメロディーの３曲目やタイトル通りまさに後光が差してくるような、歌詞もとても素晴らしい７曲目HALOなど、聞き所はたくさん。個人的には、レディオヘッドやソニックユース等と並んで、FFは現在活動しているバンドの中でもっとも期待しているバンドの一つです。
