   遊びながら学習につながる集中力と作業力を伸ばす「スモールステップ」方式のジグソーパズルのセット。男の子が大好きな新幹線が地域別に6種類描かれている（パズルは4枚）。
   ピースの少ないジグソーパズルからはじめて、少しずつピース数を増やしていくことで、パズルを完成させる達成感を味わいながら、集中力と作業力を高めていくことができる。まだ手先のおぼつかない幼児でも扱いやすいようにピースの大きさを工夫し、何度もくり返し遊べるように特別な厚みの素材を使用。ピースの形状は、ピタッとはめやすく、一度はめたらずれにくいインターロック型（本格的なジグソーパズルと同じタイプ）。パズルは各ピース1枚ずつ入っている。
   （9ピース/のぞみ500系　12ピース/つばめ　16ピース/はやて・つばさ　20ピース/こまち・MAXやまびこ）

悪いとは知りながらも、退屈しているときはテレビを見させていたのですが、パズルを手にしたときからは、テレビの前にいる時間も少なくなりました。自分で箱から出してパズルに取り組む姿は、テスト前の一夜漬けに取り組んだ昔の自分の姿にも似ているかも。とにかく、集中して取り組むことができます。
最初は、パズルが合う場所をやみくもに組み合わせながら作っていくのですが、慣れてくると図柄が頭に入るらしく、どの位置にどのパーツがくるのか分かってくるようです。
何が、子供を夢中にさせるのか？それは、大好きな新幹線だからかもしれません。もっと、色んなシリーズがあってもいいかもしれませんね。

パズルが一組ずつ箱に入っているのも、このシリーズの良さですね。お片付けの練習にもなります。公文の教材は、ちょっとした気遣いが素晴らしいと思っています。
