アニメ・FLCLのサウンドトラック第3弾とありますが、中に収録されているのはthe pillowsの楽曲（フルバージョン）のみです。
フリクリで楽曲が使用されていたということでは、確かにサントラと言えるかも知れませんが、これは単なる「アニメのサントラ」では全くありません。
インストも一切無く、本当にピロウズの曲以外は何もありません。
フリクリを見ていない人でも十分聴くことが出来るアルバムです。
オフィシャルホームページのディスコグラフィにもこのアルバムは載っていませんが、ピロウズ史に残る佳曲数多くが収録されていて、これは入門編にもいけるのでは？とも思えました。
収録楽曲を見てみると、LITTLE BUSTERS(1998) からFool on the planet(2001)位までの楽曲が中心で、その中からベストを選ぶとしたら、おそらく誰しもがこの作品と大筋同じような選曲になるでしょう。
ただし、楽曲の音源としての違いはなく、リマスタリングされているわけでもないようです。これまでのCDを全て持っている人に関しては、若干物足りないかもしれませんが、曲順の妙を改めて楽しむのもまた一興だと思います（私自身はそう楽しんでいます）。

最近、発売されたDVD『LOSTMAN GO TO AMERICA』でもこの中に収められている楽曲が数多く演奏されています。アメリカのピロウズファンもフリクリ経由でこのアルバムを聴いているのでしょう。オルタナティブな空気の楽曲が満載で、海外で通じるのも十分わかります。

妥協を許さないロックバンド、the pillowsの“裏”ベスト盤として、コストパフォーマンスも良いので、ピロウズ、ちょっと聴いてみたいななんていう人は、このアルバム、意外といいですよ。

フリクリを見て、バックで流れる楽曲に惚れて。このアルバムに手を伸ばして。
そしてまた、楽曲の新しい一面を識る。

the pillowsは、独特な雰囲気と痺れを纏うアーティストだと思います。
これに収録されているどの楽曲も、それぞれが確固たる存在感を放っていて
とても秀逸なものですし、すぐthe pillowsの放つ心地良い痺れに感染します。

フリクリが大好きな方にも、これから聴いてみようかな…と思っているリスナーの方にも、
このサントラはお勧めできると思います。

アニメのサウンドトラックですが、これはthe pillowsのBEST盤といっても過言ではありません。
テンポの良い曲ばかりなので、楽しく聴けるはずです！
the pillowsを知りたい方にもオススメですし、お値段も安いので買ってみては？
損はしないはずです。
