　「泥の河」は、日本映画史上に永遠に残る名作である。昭和31年の大阪を舞台に、戦後10年、世間が朝鮮特需に沸く中で、戦争を引きずり、高度経済成長からも取り残される貧しい人々の日常と痛みを、優しく、丹念に描いている。独立プロに拠る低予算のモノクロスタンダード作品だが、映像は静謐で力強い。小栗康平の演出、安藤庄平のキャメラ、毛利蔵人の音楽、田村高広、藤田弓子、加賀まり子の俳優陣も、皆良いが、何と言っても、三人の子役が素晴らしい。偏見や差別に耐えながら、母親を支える銀子と喜一の姉弟のいじらしさと深い悲しみ。喜一との友情が芽生えながら、あの美しい燃える蟹のシーンで、加賀まり子の「仕事」を見てしまい、自分ではどうする事もできない「壁」と「世界」がある事が分かってしまった信雄の絶望。何不自由なく生活出来る今日、かって、こういう時代があった事を、我々は決して忘れてはいけない。

　小栗康平監督が撮られた４作品は、どれも質の高い大変素晴らしい映画です。ただ個人的には、『泥の河』だけが欲しくて（仕方なく）DVD-BOXを購入しました。
　『泥の河』は、昭和31年の大阪安治川河口を舞台に食堂に住む少年と、対岸に繋がれた廓船の姉弟とのひと夏の出会いと別れを描いたとても切ない映画です。
田村高廣、藤田弓子、加賀まりこの演技が素晴らしいのは勿論のことですが、３人の子どもたちも大変自然で上手いです。
　この作品は、1981年に公開されたその年のあらゆる映画賞を総なめにして話題となりましたが、私自身もその当時(リバイバル上映を含め)何度も映画館に足を運んだ記憶があります。
　初上映から27年が経った今でも、ずっと忘れられない大好きな映画です。
　まだ観てない方は、ぜひお勧め致します。(ハンカチをお忘れなく！)

　メーカー様にお願いです。
　今後、『泥の河』を単品で発売される時には、チャプターと特典映像（当時の予告編や撮影風景など）は、是非つけてください。
　DVD-BOXは、チャプターもなければ予告編などの特典映像もなく、大変味気なかったですよ。

２０年以上も過ぎていたのです。銀座へ観に行った泥の河・・・。
宮本文学にはまり込むきっかけになった映画でした。昭和の世相を反映したシリアスな物語が自分自身の体験と重なり、なつかしさ、人間の性の怖さ、残酷さがここまで悲しく表現をしてしまった小栗映画の緻密さに驚いた。そんな、当時２０代の私に戻るつもりです。
