2005年の年始に放送された，幻の救命病棟24時パート１の名場面と新作カットを追加した，特別編です。

これまで，本家からクレームが来た，とか権利関係で発売できない…など様々な理由で市場に出回ることはありませんでした。

今回この総集編で語られているのは…，

1進藤の下で研修医を過ごした，小島楓と矢部淳平の出会い。
2楓が成長し，一人前の救命医になる過程。
3進藤がなぜ救命という場所を選んだのか。
4進藤に迫る，重大な危機。
5直後のパート３直前の進藤の動向。

といった内容です。

本来ならば，総集編が出てきた時点で☆５なのですが，見たかったシーンがすっぽり削ぎ落とされてしまっていたので-１。

救命パート２，３から御覧になった方には是非見て頂きたい，進藤と言う男の葛藤のドラマです。

ファンとしては出来れば，総集編ではなく完全な形で発売して欲しかったのですが，これが出ると言うことはそれは叶わぬことなのでしょうね…。

ドラマの後半にドラマがあります。前半はいつも通り淡々としている感じがしたのですが、江口洋介さんの演技がとにかくいい。あんな医師はいないだろうなと思いながら見させていただきました。自らも病気になり、また植物状態の奥さんの運命は？後半部分目が離せませんでした。医療物としては最高におもしろいドラマです。

私は「救命病棟24時ファン」と言いつつも、恥ずかしながらそれまでのストーリーはあまり知らない人間です。
しかし、このDVDを見て思った事は、進藤先生とはどういう医師か。
小島先生の研修医時代と現代は？
といった内容を振り返るストーリー展開となっていました。
パート3の購入を検討しておられる方には是非、お勧めしたい一品です。
(パート3までをつなぐ大切な役目を果たすDVDだと思います)

特別映像として番組予告(15秒と58秒)が入っていますし、トリビアで有名な八嶋さんも医師役として出演しており、いつもと違った感じがまたいいです。
