　惜しまれつつも２００４年に逝去した、アイヌの歌い手・安東ウメ子のファースト・アルバム。
　一聴してまず驚かされるのが、プロデュースを務めたOKI氏による、大地の広漠さを感じさせる美しい響きを持つように工夫されたミックス。歌を前面に出しながらも、伴奏の楽器の音の粒を引き立たせることで、ただの伝統保存にとどまらない意気込みを感じさせてくれる。
　アイヌの音楽、ということでとっつきにくい印象を持つ人もいるかもしれないが、ダブのような処理がほどこされたことで、とてもポップに聴けることができる。ムックリ（口琴）の、輪ゴムを爪弾いたような音も可愛らしいし、アイヌ語がわからなくてもことばの美しさを鑑賞することができる。
　タイトルどおり、イフンケ（子守唄）のように、やさしさとおおらかさを兼ね備えた作品である。

アイヌ音楽のことは、全く無知で、いわゆる博打のような勢いで購入。きかっけは、個人的に好んで聴いている唄い手が、妊婦の時におなかの子どもと聴いていたというエピソードから。皆さんのレビューを参考にやはり迷いに迷って決めました。

ありかなと感じています。

落ち込んだり、なにも考えたくない時、深く深く自己の内に沈みたい時、連れて行ってくれる音です。UAの「SUN」や「Breath」が好きな人はありかなって気持ちがわかるかも。
