ミック・カーンとともにアルバムを作った頃から、ヨーロッパ的な趣向を感じさせてはいたが、その後の坂本龍一らとのユニット“hoon”など、多岐にわたる交流が彼にもたらしたものは計り知れないのだろうと思う。この新作では、現代音楽やジャズの要素もふんだんに取り入れつつ、あくまで歌を中心に据えた作品に仕上げてきた。楽曲の中でビートを感じさせるのは、原田郁子(クラムボン)の歌う(4)ぐらいで、作品全体を眺めてみると、もはやクラブ系やエレクトロニカといった言葉では表現しきれないほど音楽的キャパシティの広がったものとなっている。ひとつひとつのサウンドの選び方はやはり抜群のセンスを発揮しているが、何より驚かされるのが、参加ヴォーカリストの多彩さ。細野晴臣と半野がデュエットしているのは考えてみたらすごい話だが、中納良恵(EGO-WRAPPIN')、ハナレグミ、坂本美雨、AH、湯川潮音といったゲストが何の違和感もなく半野ワールドの海を気持ちよく泳いでいるのは実に印象的だ。 (高橋宏文) --- 2005年06月号

こんな音を探してた！と言いたくなるサウンドが散りばめられてて、おもわず目をつむって聞きたくなるアルバム。今回のアルバムの参加アーティストがまたすごくて、クラムボンの原田郁子、ハナレグミ永積タカシ、EGOの中納良恵さらに細野晴臣etcとメインストリームに挑むと言わんばかりの面々で、本人の楽曲とまた違った唄を聞かせてくれます。３、８が特にオススメ。

２００５年を代表する日本の音楽だ。

肉体ではなく、脳味噌でファンクを作り出すアーティスト、半野喜弘がとうとう肉体を手に入れた。それがここで歌う日本のヴォーカリストたちである。半野名義の前作”Lido”は日本のアーティストたちが愛聴しているとは聞いていたが、ここまで名うてのヴォーカリストたちが嬉々として歌うアルバムになろうとは！全曲が半野の作詞、作曲、編曲というのはこれまでと変わらず一歩も譲らず。ではあるが、ヴォーカリストたちの伸びやかさはそれぞれのリーダーアルバム以上だ。とくにハナレグミの「夢の匂い」、原田郁子の「青い月」はこの二人の新しい可能性を感じさせるほどの仕上がり。エゴラッピンの中納良恵も、エゴラッピン以上に艶っぽい。坂本美雨がこんなに歌が巧かったとは！など驚きばかり。おそらく半野もヴォーカリストたちも自ら驚いているんじゃないだろうか。”Lido”の緻密だからこその音楽マシーンぶりとは異なり、それぞれにライヴな歌世界が現れる。

そしてアルバムを通して幾度となく聴けば、これはJ-POPのあるべき一つの姿にして、今はJ-POPの極北。アルバムの最後を飾る若干２０歳の湯川潮音がつぶやく「もし、あなたがそばにいてくれたら、もう一度動き出すかも」とは僕ら日本のリスナーに突きつけられた音楽からの静かな警告だろうか？その答えは・・・５年後に。

日本語のボーカル・アルバムです。
静かでセンチメンタルな曲が多いです。そこそこには良い曲が多いですが、
飛び抜けて良い曲は無く普通レベルのアルバムだと感じました。
