クイーン初のベスト盤。

2ndアルバム『クイーンII』から9th『フラッシュゴードン』（残念ながら1stからは、収録されていない。又、『ホットスペース』にも収録の♪アンダー~は、当時このアルバムが初収録だった）の中からシングルヒットした曲を集めた初期~中期クイーンを楽しむには、最適なアルバム。
No.1ヒットが、連打された中期の代表作8th『THE GAME』からは、ナント４曲（2,8,9,13）も含まれている。

しかし、初期クイーンのアルバムは、コンセプト的な作品が多いので、やはりアルバムを聴くことをお薦めしたい（『クイーンII』『オペラ座の夜』の２枚を推奨！）。

因みにアナログ盤で発売された当時は、国に因って選曲が、異なっていたが（確か全７種。日本盤の収録曲が最多だった）、これは、英国盤にM-18のボーナストラックが、収録されたもの。

蛇足だが、個人的にM-2は後半に収録して欲しかった（M-11と12の間が、イイかな）。
