NTV系ドラマ『瑠璃の島』（2005年4月から放映）の主題歌「ここにしか咲かない花」を収録したシングル。過疎化が進む沖縄・鳩間島を舞台に少女と島民の交流を描くドラマのために、叙情豊かな楽曲をコブクロが書き下ろした。優しさと力強さ、絶妙のハーモニーがドラマの情景にシンクロする。

歌詞がとても共感できて、感動し心が救われた気がします
「心に括り付けた荷物を静かにおろろせる場所」
本当の気持ち？自分の弱さや求めてる事に気付いた気がしました。
そこにある光に気付かしてくれたこの曲に感謝です
聴けば聴くほど心に染みる大好きな一曲です

自分は結構いい年になってきたので、最近の音楽情勢（特にチャート情勢は全く分からない）、ベスト１０にランクされる曲の８曲程度知らない有様で、２１世紀に入ってから時計の針が止まってしまった感じだけど、そのような中で彼らの曲には私の琴線に触れる何かがある。８０年代９０年代の間でも邦楽の質は変わったが、２０００年代に入って更に変わってしまった。或る人がこんな事を言っていた「８０、９０年代で培われたメロディーが２１世紀で崩壊した」と。良くも悪くもそのメロディーに飽きがきたのだと。。それは結構的を得ていると自分は思った。今のティーンから言わせれば「それはあんたの感性がおっさんになったからだ」と批判されるかもしれないが、少なくともコブクロには、その脈々と継がれている邦楽の美しいメロディーが生きていると思う。

１９やゆずの「フォークリバイバル」に便乗できた幸運もあったかもしれないが、路上弾語りから叩き上げの力強さを感じる。けれど力まずに自然なまま、飾らずに歌い上げているのが彼らの雰囲気そのものから感じるし、歌詞に使われるフレーズでも日本語の魅力を節々で感じる。

それと個人的な事ですが、私は楽器を弾きます。最近の邦楽はほとんど打ちこみ系のＰＣ合成音だらけ。。特に耳につくのがドラムの合成音、あれがどうにも堪えられない。。コブクロも勿論それらの恩恵を多少は受けているのだろうけど、路上出身だけありアコースティックギターを手放さないというのが私の中で極めて重要な位置を占めている。生楽器の存在って、とても大切なポイントだと思います。

断言はできないけど、彼らは一過性で消える歌手では無いと思う。おそらく何十年と活躍できるだけの世代を超えた普遍的なメロディーと日本人だからこそ感じられる緩やかな雰囲気を持っている。

↑だと私は思っています。ドラマと合ってたし。沖縄の歌なのに明るくない、切ないのは実際行って見たものを曲にしたからだと思います。こんなにいいのになぜか売れませんでした。不思議でなりません。このドラマと歌は日本人が忘れてるものを教えてくれたように思います。日本人なら感動するはずです。
