マイスパレードの5thアルバム。
初期のアダムピアースのソロプロジェクトとして始まり、徐々にバンドとしての連帯感を増して来て、遂に５作目、その高まりが極みに達した印象。ゲストボーカルとしてmumのクリスティーンや日本からはクラムボンの原田郁子、そしてアダム自身も多くの曲でボーカルをとる。感情に満ちた音のうねりが連れて行ってくれる心地よい音の波。

元々は、ディラン･グループのほうがメインで、こっちのアダム･ピアーズのソロユニットは、実験的な音遊びをするというイメージを持っていたんですが、前作辺りからきちんとまとまったポップをやるようになってきた感じがあります。さらに、この2005年作は昔のイメージからはさらに離れたところに行き、歌モノとしての完成度を上げています。この手のポストロック勢で歌モノというとシー・アンド・ケイクが第一人者でしょうが、彼らの音が相当に乾いているのに対し、このマイス・パレードのほうはバンドとしてのオーガニックさを感じます。それはクラムボンの原田郁子をゲストとして起用していることでも分かると思います。そういった意味で、ポストロックと呼ばれる音の中で、マッケンタイヤ周辺のシカゴ派の乾いた音よりも、取っ付きやすいかもしれません。曲作りの盛り上げ方もうまいし。
しかし、竹村延和とやってたようなインプロ的な実験作も好きだったので、確かに良いのは良いんですが、少し寂しい気もします。

アダム・ピアーズのソロ・ユニット。
通算５枚目となるフル・アルバム。

ヴォーカルにムームの
クリスティーン・ヴァルティースドッティル、
クラムボンの原田郁子が参加。
HIMのダグ・シャリンもゲスト参加している。

ドラマーである彼ならではの
自在なドラムが生み出す豊かなリズムと
スパニッシュ・ギター、ヴィブラフォンの響きが
スリリングかつドリーミーに共鳴し合った
とびきり美しい桃源郷ポップ。

アダムとともにヴォーカルをとる
クリスティーンの歌声もキュートで幻想的。
その歌ごころが素晴らしい。

ちらっと挟みこまれた
シューゲイザー・テイストもよく
彼のキャリアで最高にポップな仕上がり。
