現代戦をテーマにした戦略シミュレーションゲーム。今バージョンでは、「大戦略パーフェクト 2.0」をベースにして開発された「現代大戦略 2004 ~日中国境紛争勃発!~」にて追加された「国境線」や「地雷・機雷」、「シンプルモード」などの機能に、さらに新規機能を追加搭載。単に国境線を表示するだけのモード、国境線の越境ができないモード、越境はできるが越境と同時に敵対陣営になるモードの3つのモードを、国境線のヘックスの一辺ごとに設定可能に。また、越境と同時に敵対陣営にになる陣営については、「協定」という陣営の種類を追加。さらに「地雷原」と「機雷原」の設定が可能なほか、発動回数や配置を確認できる陣営も設定できる。また逆に、それらを排除する能力のある兵器として「地雷」については工作部隊と戦闘工兵を、「機雷」については「掃海艇」が新たに登場。ほか、ゲームに勝利した時点で生存している部隊を保存しておくことができる機能「マイ部隊」や、主要な兵器(約300種類)についての3D画像による兵器図鑑機能「3D兵器図鑑」も装備。思考ルーチンの強化もはかられ、コンピュータの生産において、陸・海・空の生産比率の設定が可能に。

メーカーのファンクラブページからユーザーが作成したマップや兵器がダウンロードできます。従って最初に入っているマップや一部の第二次大戦兵器から最新の兵器に仮に飽きたとしてもユーザー作成のマップや兵器で、嘗ての有名な日露戦争でのバルチック艦隊対日本艦隊戦や、第一次大戦や、アダムスキー型円盤に乗って地球に攻めてくる宇宙人との戦い等、幅広く、楽しめると思います。
なお、次回作のパーフェクト 3.0の発売が近いことが予想されます。
