4.0 out of 5 stars 意外にスピーディーな展開で楽しめる, 2005/12/29
1933年というから世界大恐慌直後の時代の映画である。
日本は昭和8年である。

キングコングは人形で
コマ撮り手法でよくも撮ったり、
こみいった動作もうまく表現できている。

とても現代のVFXと比較できるものではないが、
白黒の画面とあいまって「よい雰囲気」が醸し出されている。

南海の孤島からキングコングをニューヨークに運び、
見世物にするが逃げ出して大暴れのストーリーは
もう説明不要だろう。

意外にスピーディーな展開で楽しめる。

リメイクされたJ.ラング版、2005年度のナオミ・ワッツ版のどちらとも
キングコングとヒロインの心の交流が描かれ、涙を誘うシーンもあるが
オリジナルの本作では、人を踏み潰し、かみ殺す猛獣として
描かれているのが大きく異なる。

リメイク版もかえってこのオリジナル版を再評価させる
結果になってしまうのではないでしようか？
それほどこの映画は特別だと思います。
ピータージヤクソン監督自身も超えるなどということは
語ってなく若い世代の人たちがモノクロ映像を観ること
に飽きてしまうから敢えて最新のテクノロジーでリメイク
するのだと語っていました。ロードオブザリングと同じく
この３３年版を原作と解釈するならば大成功ではないでしようか。

昔々、小学生の時にテレビで見た時の衝撃ときたら、なんというか今でも脳裏に焼きついている。モノクロというのもいいし、もやがかかってなんとなく神秘的なムードが漂っていてそれだけでもう何かが出てきそうという感じムンムン。それに、当時見ていた日本のゴジラシリーズは中に人間が入っているというのが丸分かりだったのですが、このキングコングは当時どうやって撮影しているんだろうと不思議で仕方がなかった思い出が残っております。恐竜も動きが速いし今見ても結構楽しめます。エンパイアステートビルに登ったコングをやっつけに来る「双葉機」がいい味出してますね。それと意外とテンポが速くって現代的です。
