DISK2に収められた未発表曲。これが聴きたいが為だけに購入したのだがはっきり言って期待はずれ。個人的には彼等の最高傑作だと思っているので、この時期の曲ならたとえデモでもと期待していたのだが、ほとんどがインストとはどういうこと？
まあ「Hanging Garden」なんてアルバムとは全然ちがうメロディなんでそれはそれなりに面白かったがそれだけじゃねえ。「FAITH」に関しても同じ感想です。

正直なところ、これ以上の作品に、まだこのバンドに関しては出会っていません。DISC2に収録された、デモは、ハッキリ言ってしまえば、駄作です。でも、この作品の作り方をしていった過程が良く判り、興味をそそります。ライブでは、一番期待していた「THE HANGING GARDN」のシングルに入っていた、「KILLING AN ARAB」はオミットされています。言いたいことがあり過ぎる程、期待は大きいアルバムです。初心者の方は、このデラックス版より、単独作で、素晴しさを確認して、より深く、探究したくなった時に、購入をすすめます。でも、最高作であることには、かわりありません。

キュアーがJOY DIVISIONを念頭に作ったと公言。国内盤で初めて出たのもこれ。私にとってもCUREの最高傑作。以降ポップ化の一途を辿ったのも、これだけの作品を作れたからこそ。
さて今回の再発シリーズはボーナスディスクのみが語られるべきだが、JOIN THE DOTSの充実度からすると、やはりどれも残り物という印象は免れず、聴いた後に語るべきこともなくなるような・・・。すでに終わっているバンドだけどこういう形で過去を汚すのもどうかと疑問が。特にこのアルバムだけは、結果論だが、こんな形で出してほしくなかった。駄作もいいとこ。マニア向けなんて無責任にも言えない。
