アイディアを絞り込まれた、非常に良作なゲームだと思います。シューティングゲームとしての難易度も適当でしたし、自分は楽しくプレイすることができました。前作と比べ、パワーアップが無くなったことに関心を持ちました。式神の城は、敵を倒したときに出るコインを一定量集めるとパワーアップするのですが、最後のほうのステージでは弾幕も非常に厳しくなってくるので、シューディングがどちらかという下手で、ボスなどはコンティニューしながらボム使いまくりで倒していたという人は、ほぼレベルアップが無理です･･･。
ですが、弾幕もよくよく見ればちゃんと抜け道があり、がんばれば誰でもよけれるようになります。よけれるようになればシューティングがもっと楽しくなると思います♪キャラの当たり判定も超ちっちゃいので、あたってなかったか？という場面も多々。けっこう楽です。
良作なシューティングほど、キャラは少なく、選べるキャラは２体だけとかもありますが、このゲームは８体おり、攻撃のバリエーションも、フルボイスストーリーも豊富なので、長く遊べると共に、極めがいがあります。ですが、ショットはあまり使わず、ステージの７割以上が式神攻撃しか使わないようになるのは間違いないと思います･･･。ベスト版になったことで安くなったので、シューティングに興味のある方に超お勧めです！
でもステージは５つしかないので、コンティニューしまくりで二回ぐらい全クリしたら今日はもうやめようという人はすぐ飽きるので、買うと損をすると思います。シューティングの面白さは「これでもかというハイスコアを叩きだし、一回も死なずにクリアする」という点にあると、僕は思っています。一回も死なずにクリアできたら超気持ちいいですよ♪

3.0 out of 5 stars ある意味現在のシューティングシーンの異常さが覗える作品, 2005/5/14
２００４年にＰＳ２でリリースされた同作の廉価版。
元々キャラの魅力が売りだった前作に新キャラ（敵含む）を追加、
さらに有名声優陣を起用ということで、シューター以外にも話題になった作品。
ということで、この廉価版にもキャラ萌えで入ってくる初心者がいると思うが
そういう方に少々警告。
この作品、同じく昨年ＰＳ２でリリースされた「エスプガルーダ」とともに
シューティングとしては「難度が低い」という評価で認知されています。
が、それはある程度シューティングのうまい人が「怒首領蜂大往生」等の
難度の高い作品と比較して、ということでの評価。
普通に考えれば、冗談にも難度が低いとは言えない内容です。
ＦＲＥＥ　ＰＬＡＹがデフォルトで存在してれば（プレイ時間による追加要素です）、
初心者にも薦められるのですが・・・。

前作を越える８体のキャラクターから選択し、全５ステージをプレイ！
複雑な世界観の上に立つストーリーはそれぞれのキャラクターの視線から作られており、プレイヤーをゲームの世界に引き込みます。さらに２人同時プレイの場合でもキャラクターの組み合わせの数だけストーリーが存在し（全２７通り）、プレイヤーを飽きさせません。
家庭用オリジナル仕様として練習用の「プラクティスモード」・ストーリーを鑑賞する「ストーリーコレクト」・イラストを楽しむ「ギャラリーモード」を用意。
プレイステーション２版だけのオリジナル仕様として、ボスと連続で戦う「ボスアタックモード」を用意。また、弾の大きさやスピードを自由に調整する「エクストラオプション」 も用意。
キャラクターはすべてフルボイス！有名人気声優も多数参加。結城小夜：cv「堀江由衣」、ふみこ・オゼット・ヴァンシュタイン：cv「百々麻子」、・ニーギ・ゴージャスブルー：cv「矢島晶子」、アララ・クラン：cv「田村ゆかり」
