鳩間可奈子と大島保克の共演を初めて聴いたのは「ニライカナイ」という企画アルバムでしたが、実にこれが素晴らしかったのです。そしてこのアルバムでは５曲もこの二人の共演が聴けたのがうれしい！この二人に仲宗根哲を加えた三人が基本形で、曲によってゲストが入ったり、弾き語りもあったり。その中でも「イラヨイ月夜浜」ではなんと、アイルランドから、あの、アルタンが！参加しているではあーりませんかっ！！アルタンが来日した時にステージで共演したり、大島がアイルランドのドニゴールを訪ねたり（アルタンの出身地）といったことは聞いてはいたけれど、まさか録音が聴けるとは・・・両者のアルバムをすべて持っている私にはうれしすぎて現実感がありません。まあ、アルタンといってもバンド全員ではなく、マレードとダーモットだけですが、それでも十分です。今後も継続的にこーゆーのやっていただきたいですね。

八重山の唄者、大島保克が八重山・宮古・沖縄の民謡を唄い、島々を渡っていきます。オリジナル曲を中心に据えた前作「島時間」とは異なり、島々の民謡を中心とした構成ですが、聞き慣れていたはずの島の唄がことごとく「大島節」へと変換されて行く様はとても心地好いです。
八重山の若き唄者・鳩間可奈子、太鼓のサンデーとの意気はもちろん、「かいされー」では金城綾乃(Kiroro)のピアノ、「多良間ションカネ」では坂田明のサックスとの一体感に満ちた美しいコラボ、「国頭サバクイ」では囃子からＵＡがあふれ出てきます。
また、喜納昌吉の名曲「東崎」、言わずと知れた「イラヨイ月夜浜」など、現代の島唄・情唄もあらためて聞き入るところです。
そして、もっとも心に染み入るのが（個人差あり）、宮古民謡「伊良部トーガニ」。昨年の下北沢での「一人唄会」のときに最も印象深かった唄なのですが、このアルバムの中でも出色だと思います（余：伝説の唄者・国吉源次さんと聴き比べても楽しい）。チャンスのある人には是非、生で聞いて欲しい唄でもあります。
何度か聞いてから、オリジナルの新唄が無いことに気づきましたが、文句はありません。長く聞き続けられる素晴らしいアルバムだと思います。上等！

ジャケットに惹かれて買ったのですが、コレすごくいいですね！
全曲素晴らしいのですが、特に『黒島口説』が大のお気に入り！
唄が超きれい☆こんなに声の美しい人めったにお目にかかれないですよ！三線も超うまいです。
