　身が引締まるような思いさえする厳かなコーラスと、見事なホーン・セクションがファンタジーへの好奇心を増幅させるThe Last Crusade＝傑作。クラシック音楽、へヴィ・メタルへの愛情が痛いほど伝わってきて、思わず微笑んでしまう。窮屈な展開をせず、曲の流れがスムーズになるよう工夫された力作!メタル・オペラ、この言葉はEpicaのために作られた造語だとすら感じるほどダイナミック。物悲しいPianoのイントロで幕をあけるBlank Infinityも凝った作風だが、それほど難解ではなく、ミドル・テンポで進んでいく曲のためか気持ちよく聴くことができる。Epicaの本領が発揮された好ナンバー! 泣きたくなってしまうほど切ないメロディを、情感タップリに歌い上げるシモーネ・シモンズの声の美しさが際立つTrois Vierges…

　自分が心のキャンバスに描いていた理想を具現化してくれたEpicaへ送る8文字、感動をありがとう。

　シンフォニックKey入りフィーメール・ゴシック・メタルに目がないという人達に、この作品を捧げたい!

美と醜（デス声の要素）、普遍的要素と新しいもの、静けさと激しさ、そういった要素のコントラストであり調和であるものが、ゴシックメタルに私が惹かれる部分かなあと思いますが、まさにその理想そのものがエピカのメロディ。
デス声はあまり好きでなかったのですが、これはデス声が見事で必要不可欠と思わせられます。
本当最初からドラマティックでしびれました☆美しい女性ボーカルとコーラス、カッコよいデス声、壮大なドラマを感じさせる曲、すごいわエピカ。

KAMELOTの新作でゲストシンガーとして参加した女性Vo.シモーネ率いるEPICAの２ndアルバム。
もはや元AFTER FOREVERのマーク　ヤンセンのバンドという肩書きも不要と言いたいほど、EPICA流のシンフォニックゴシックサウンドで、バンドとして成り立っている。
新作は、期待を裏切らない完成度です。
方向性は前作とほぼ変わらず。
今作でもオペラ風で、クラシカルでクワイア等が各楽曲で聴かれます。
デス声も含むブルータルな楽曲、映画のサントラのような楽曲、そしてバラードではシモーネのヴォーカリストとしての成長が凄く感じます。
９曲目のバラードでは、KAMELOTのロイ　カーンがゲスト参加。
シモーネのKAMELOTへの参加、そして今回は逆にロイが参加等、話題が多く、しかも最近はNIGHTWISHの来日でゴシック系にも注目が集まるのではと期待してます。
是非生で観たいバンドです。
