　「空を見るのが好きな」高田梢枝が、エウレカＥＤのために提供した曲。レントンの回想的なナレーションで進む本編の放送。子供のころの世の中がだんだん見えてくる「苦くて酸っぱくも甘い」感情と、男の子特有の弱さを隠したいがための強がりを、女性である高田梢枝がせつなくもさらりと歌い上げてくれています。
　
　無駄のないピアノ、ストリングス、パーカッションに絞ったアレンジと、テクニックに走らない歌声が、クールにキレイに飾らない素直なレントンにかさなって、聞いた後にほろっと、グッとくる歌です。近年珍しい、アニメ本編への気持ちのこもった作品。

　素直に、聞き入ってしまう名曲。久々に空を見上げて見たくなりました。

アニメ『交響詩篇 エウレカセブン』第1期EDテーマ。
だが、この曲はアニメとのタイアップ以前から高田さんが作っていた曲だそうで。
アコースティックライブ時に一般客として来ていたエウレカスタッフが聞いたところ、「主役のレントンの心情に非常に近い」と感じ、タイアップすることになったとか。

実際、曲を聴いてみるとレントンらしさがよくあらわれている。
少年特有の苦しみ、悔しさ、空回りする思い・・・。
痛い程伝わってくる。

惜しむらくは高田梢枝という人の知名度がまだ低いという点だろう。
多くの人に知ってもらい、聴いてほしい傑作である。

何でも、交響詩篇エウレカセブンという番組のテーマソングなんだそうですが、
娘がよく聞いていたので、イイ曲だなぁと思っていました。
楽曲の変化がダイナミックで素晴らしく、特にサビがイイです。
「・・・大きな、大きな、空〜」
インディーズの中には、こんなにも素晴らしい曲やアーティストが眠っているんだと、
改めてそう思いました。
ＴＶのヒット曲番組や紅白歌合戦で歌われる曲にはない魅力がありますね。
高田梢枝「秘密基地」、素晴らしいです！！
