90年代を代表するアルバムの一枚としては、決して外すことの出来ない名盤。アメリカのロックシーンにおける、ある意味歴史的な一枚。それはニルヴァーナと同じくらいの重要度だと思います。
ポップで聴きやすいので、ロックファンでなくても楽しめる点もこのアルバムのキモ。
音楽ファンは必聴でしょう！

デビュー当時から、あちこちでもてはやされ、
録音悪いのをローファイだのノイズ系だのともてはやされ、
気に食わなかったです。聴く耳持たなかったです。
これまでの音をお手軽につなぎ合わせただけのレタッチミュージックじゃん、と。
どうせ楽器もろく弾けないくせに、
ベックといえばジェフ・ベックだろ、と。

でもやっぱりセンスいいですね、改めて思います。
しかし、今聴くと、強烈な衝撃を受けるほどではありません。
映画でいうなら「羊たちの沈黙」。って、怒られるかしら。

ロック好きで、
ヒップホップとかブルースとかまでは聴く気しないけど、
新しい音に出会いたい人に。

ポップ過ぎず、かといってラップとかじゃちょっと濃いし、
だからってメロディアスな曲もＮＧな場面で流す曲を探している人に。

ベックと趣味が同じ人に。
