まさに魂のアルバム。

このアルバムは、発表されずに残されていた彼女の幻のサードアルバム。
彼女の残した2枚は本当に素晴らしい。
それに対し、通常こうした未発表アルバムは、コアなファン向けの未完成で荒削りなものが多い。

でも、このアルバムは、2枚組のうち1枚目はしっかりと完成されており、かつ彼女の本質そのものが表現された名盤。シンプルなアレンジが、他の2枚以上に彼女の本質を表現している。
2枚目は、デモやライブを収録。やや狂気的な性格とも言われるが、一部笑いながら歌う彼女に、人間的な生暖かさを感じる。加えてエンハンスドCDであり、動く彼女を見られるまさにコアなファン向けにもなっている。でも、3曲目あたりでうちのPCはいつもフリーズ。「Kiss」までなかなか聴けない。トホホ…。

このアルバムとあわせて、80年代の別なアーティストのアルバムを買ったんだけど、このアルバムを聴いた後ではとても聴く気にはなれなかった。

ジュディ・シル。死ぬまで聴き続けます！

~過去のアルバムを知っている人知らない人もこれは家宝級のアルバムです。たった二枚のアルバムはいずれも一部の音楽愛好家によって語り継がれてきたがまさか幻のサードアルバムがリリースされるなんて思いもしなかった。こういうのってコアなファンしか楽しめないものが多い中、これはちょっと違う。まさに今聞かれるべき音。しかもボーナスCDには未発表音源も~~収録。彼女についての詳しいライナーもかなり読み応えあり。しかも！動いてる映像も見れる！ちょとこれは今年の再発お宝でしょう。何よりジャケットからして作り手の愛情がたっぷり感じられます。心にしみる歌声は時代が変わっても愛され続ける。みんなに教えたくて聞かせたいけど、教えたくないような気になる音楽。そんな気持ちがわかる人には愛聴盤間違い~~なし！！！~

もはや宗教的な祈りの境地。ささやくようでいて、しかし、明るいけれども、やはりどこか憂鬱な雰囲気。深いアーティストに共通して、一筋縄の規定にはみ出てしまう歌声なのです。

実は、私はJudeeはこのアルバムから聞いてしまったのですが、これが幻のお蔵入りになりかけていたものだったとは！このアルバムは崇高な境地に完全に高められていて、少しも余り物の印象がしません。神聖で真正の完成盤です。私にとっては、人知れず咲く大輪の百合を見つけたようで、まさしく幻の名盤の名に恥じぬ稀有の作品だと考えます。

Judeeがかくまでマイナーな地位に甘んじているのは、実に信じがたいことです。
