ヒーリング系では絶大な人気を誇ると言われるシークレット・ガーデン。ものは試し、と思って最新作を買ってみました。
まずフィンヌーラのバイオリンに癒されます。朝、特にあまり天気のよくないどんよりした朝に最初の二曲を聴いただけで魂に沁みてきます。
「リール」と「エリンの娘たち」はケルト音楽の影響が強く、少々うるさく感じる方もあるかも知れませんが、エンヤ以降静かなブームとなっているケルト音楽に私は親しみと懐かしさを感じます。ポップスでも「ザ・コアーズ」の最新作などはケルト音楽の要素が強いですし、時代の潮流でしょうか。
その他はバイオリンが主で、どの曲も美しく穏やか。まさに癒しの音楽です。加えてどこか哀愁を帯びた感じが気に入っています。
歌入りは4曲。「オールウェイズ・ゼア」はラッセル・ワトソンが慈愛に満ちた声で歌っていて、確かに「ユー・レイズミー・アップ」に匹敵する曲です。嬉しい驚きを覚えたのは「ハーフ・ア・ワールド・アウェイ」。ヤン・ヴェルナー・ダニエルセンが歌っているのですが、少しかすれ気味のビブラートの効いた声に魅了されました。歌詞にも胸をうたれます。その後、彼の歌がもっと聴きたくてアルバムを探していますが、いまだ見つかっていません。
音、旋律、歌、演出、全てにおいて期待を上回る1枚でした。

久々にでた待望のオリジナルアルバム。２月にファンメールでアルバム完成の知らせを受け、わくわくしていた私。早速聴いてみると、今までのアルバム同様、シークレットガーデンの独特な世界に引き込まれた。深い森で深呼吸し、甘酸っぱいような懐かしいような思いが心を満たしてゆく。本当に癒されたい人に是非聴いてもらいたいです。
このアルバム以外も是非聴いてみてください。本当に癒されたい方にはその期待を裏切らないと思います。
シークレットガーデン、私が世界一好きなアーティストです。

"Songs From a Secret Garden"を聞いてから
フィンヌーラの情感溢れるバイオリンの虜になりました。
他のアルバムもベスト版を除き聞いてきましたが
一番このアルバムを聞いていますね。
録音もいい感じです。

1,2,5,7,11が特にオススメです。
心に響きます。
