アニメーションの超大作、といっても過言ではなくなった「アニメ版AIR」。４巻はついに・・・過去編（summer編）です。主人公も、時代も、舞台も、全て変わります。

☆５つの理由は観たら納得すると思いますが、ここでいくつか。

たった３話程度で終了するであろう「summer編」のために、「むしろこれがメインです」と言わんばかりにしっかり描かれた時代背景。社殿や、柳也たちの言葉の言い回し。自然豊かな舞台ですので、森や川、夕日などといった自然物がものすごく美しく描かれています。

そして柳也の戦闘シーン・・・アクションアニメばりの鋭さです。かっこいいです。かなり。ほんの少しだけでしたから・・・もっと観たかったですけど。

確かに、「尺」の関係でカットされたエピソードも多いですし、ゲームより弱冠、急ぎ足な旅になっています。それでも「ここだけは」という場面（神奈をからかう二人や、「家族」についてのやりとりなど）はしっかり入っていて、思わず笑ったり、感動したり。凝縮された出来映えです。

それでも納得いかない方は、「AIR特別編　summer」を購入しましょう(^^;)

この巻に収録される第八話、個人的にはこれまでで最高のクオリティ。
戦闘シーン（わずか20秒ほどしかないが）など劇場版かと思うほど。
他の演出面、画質も最高レベル。

この巻に収録されている話は倒れた美鈴と往人の前世へと話が移っていきます。
日に日に体が動かなくなっていく美鈴を見て往人は美鈴から離れることを決意する、その夜往人は母親と過ごした少年時代の夢を見たそして美鈴を助けるすべを見出し往人は自分の力を使い二人が出会った時からやり直したいと願った。そして１０００年前の二人の出会いへと話は移って行く。
この巻は（特に７話）感動も一押しですから是非見てください。
