今年に入って初めてのジョニのアルバムは、やはり即発タイトルの編集盤となりましたね。しかし、本作には注目すべき点がたくさんあります。まず90年代後期におけるジャズロックアルバムの名作ともいえる「taming the tiger」からの曲、「harlem in havana」の収録。この曲はアルバムの中でもかなり異色のナンバーで、ゴージャスかつエネルギーを持った崇高な一曲。本作の収録曲の順に聞くとかなりの気色の違いに少々戸惑うかも知れないが、それはまぁ企画盤だから仕方ないか。そして初期の名作「Hejira」からと「Don Juan's ~」からの「Song for Sharon」と「Paprika Plains」の収録。この2曲だけでいったい何分あるんだ！と言いたくなりますが、そうは言いながらもリスナーの意思よりも自分のしたいこと、すべきことを相変わらずマイペースでやってくれるジョニの健在ぶりをこんなところで垣間見れるのも嬉しかったりする。（多分）すべてリマスターだと思うし、恒例の凝ったブックレットにも期待ということで★5つです！

これの一年前にリリースされたベスト盤『ドリームランド』との違いは、まず重複がないだけではなく、未発表ヴァージョン、レア・トラックが収録されている点にあります。
まず、１は1967年リリースのシングル曲。ベスト盤『ヒッツ（邦題　永遠の愛の歌〜ベスト（１））』にも収録されていますが、こちらのほうはリマスターされているはずです。
次に、８は未発表リミックス。
最後に、13は、プロモ用に使われたエディット・ヴァージョンです。

もちろん歌詞はブックレットに印刷されています。日本盤はリリースされていません。
