　FRANZ FERDINANDのフォロワーと言ってしまえばそれまでです．

　04年のFRANZの世界規模での成功を受けて各社その「二番煎じ」を躍起になって探してきてますが，こちらはUniversal系列が見つけてきたバンド．

　ポップでキャッチーで，それでいてニュー・ウェイヴっぽい湿った感覚もあって，かつ踊れるということで減点法で行けばどこも減点されないのだけど，加点法で行くと「やるよね！」というポイントは見つけにくい．

　05年のフジ・ロックに出演しますが，食事をしながら，後ろでダラダラ見ていたいという印象で，前の方で見たいとは思えないという表現がわかりやすいかも．

　価格もお手ごろなのでとりあえず買ってみる，ってのもありですが，うれしい驚きはあまり無いですよ．

　2005年のUK新人の目玉の１つ、リーズ出身の5人組。
　簡単に言えば、昨今のニューウェーブ~ポストパンク再評価・リバイバルの流れにあるバンドですが、核となるメロディは'60年代UKロック（所により加山雄三的グループサウンズ風）な感じで、曲展開も風変わり・一筋縄ではいきません。正に「居そうで居ない」音楽性です。
　冒頭1~4までのテンションの高さが素晴らしいです。個人的には4が気に入ってます。ただ、中盤以降に多少勢いが落ちますが、全体的に完成度は高いアルバムです。
　殆ど曲で“ナナナナナ~”“ララララ~”と口ずさみ易いコーラスで掴み良し。見た目にもオシャレな彼ら、ライブが観たい！

確かに歌い方、、というかメロディーはXTCっぽい。あるいは1stの頃police? サウンドはBritpop-obsessedな感じ。2005年のデビューアルバム。好きなもは好きという点で正面からリスペクトする姿勢というのは、それが1stアルバムだとNMEは絶賛する(ような気がする)。でこのアルバムもそんな風に絶賛されてた。たとえFranz Ferdinandのフォロワーだったとしても。まぁいい。

声が良い。こういう荒削りなバンドに似合う声というのはあると思う。キレイでも上手でもなくて、粗い感じ。どの曲もパワーを持ち合わせていて、ラジオ向きなトラックが多い。でもこれはミックスの影響もあるだろう、なんていうかパワーが少しスクエアな感じというか。ライヴはきっともっと乱暴な感じだと思う。スリーコードの堂々とした使いっぷりなんかを聴いてるとそんな気がする。
