ベックの2005年新作の｢guero｣の輸入盤の国内仕様(解説＋歌詞、歌詞和訳付き)デラックス盤。
以下、通常盤との違い。

●ジャケット-写真とは違い。白色のハードカバー。パッケージの大きさは普通のCDケースより大きな幅で、高さはDVDのトールケースより低い。ブックレットも写真が多くて豪華。CDとDVDが半分重なり合うように収められるようになっていて珍しい。

●CD-通常盤よりリミックスが4曲追加されている。

●DVD-デラックス盤にのみ付いている。DVD-Audio対応のプレイヤーが有ればCDより良い音で聴ける。
ボーナストラックを除くCDの全13曲のビデオクリップが見れる。ただしビデオクリップは写真をコンピューターで処理したようなもので決して豪華ではない。個人的には良いと思うが、むやみに期待しないほうがいい。
それとは別に隠しトラックとして、｢E-PRO｣はメインメニュー画面の右上の動画部分、｢ブラックタンバリン｣は音声設定画面の右上の動画部分をクリックすると上記とは違うきちんとした(こちらは期待してもいい)ビデオクリップが始まる。

最近CD発売後にDVD-AUDIO盤が発売される事が多いが、このデラックス盤はCDもDVD-AUDIOもついてと、お得だ(大体DVD-AUDIO盤は単品で3000円以上する)。

ちなみに本編｢guero｣は、以前の｢チープ＋奇抜｣ではなく、｢適度に豪華＋いい感じに奇抜｣で大人な感じです。何度も聴ける楽しみがあります。

第一印象は、おっ、やっぱベックかっこええーって感じで安心して聞けました。でも、あまりにすんなり入ってきすぎで、とくに引っかかるところもなく（良くも悪くも）ちょっと物足りない感じ。
よく言えば集大成かもしれんけど、悪く言えば過去の焼き直し？想像していた範囲を超えてないというか・・・
好きなだけにちょっと辛口になってしまいました。

2005年3月リリース。『オディレイ』でのThe Dust BrothersとTony Hofferがプロデュース。ホワイト・ストライプスのジャック・ホワイトも参加し、ベックのへんてこな世界を支える面子が勢揃いでのリリースとなっている。どうも『シー・チェンジ』の前に作りかけのアルバムがあってそれが進化したのが本作らしい。

タイトルの『Guero』は、スペイン語で、白人の男の子を差すスラングだそうである。LAのスパニッシュ・タウンに住んでいたベックは幼い頃、そうやって声をかけられたらしい。ベック特有のフォークに根ざしなから、エレクトリックと雑音が入り交じったサウンドが見事に組み上がっている。そういういろんな要素を組み合わせたベックの音楽を自ら『Guero』とよんでいるようだ。

何しろベックしか作れない世界だ。
