概要
対象年令3〜6歳が遊べる、パズル的な玩具。シンプルで平面な円盤が差し換え無しで、各々立体的な動物に変形。キャラクター玩具としての販売であるが純玩具としての遊びを前面に出した。

デザイナーのコメント
シンプルなディスクが簡単な変形によって様々な立体的な動物になる。「折り紙」ならぬ「折ディスク」を目指した。

審査委員のコメント
テレビのキャラクターを忠実に玩具として再現しているが、立体のものを折り畳むとシンプルな薄い円盤になってしまうという意外性のある画期的な機能や、年齢にかかわりなく誰でも扱える分かりやすい操作性が大変優れており、評価できる。

ディスクアニマルの中でも、足が多いせいか外れやすい部分が多くて、公園のお友達に貸したら壊されてしまいました。（新しいのを購入しようとしていますが、店をまわっても売り切ればかりです。）
お友達との関係を悪くしないためにも、公園に持っていくディスクアニマルは、カニ以外がベターだと思います。

「仮面ライダー響鬼」の主人公達が使用するディスクアニマルシリーズの最新作で、モチーフは蟹です。
パーソナルカラーは黄色でキハダガニという名称が付けられていますが、正確にはシオマネキという種です。
劇中では15匹がいっぺんに登場していました。
シリーズ中でもかなりのパーツ分割数を誇っていますが、円からの変形はいたって簡単です。
特徴的なハサミも大きく動き、かなり良い出来です。
ただ、キラキラした印刷面が下向きになっている上に、上体を反らせて立たせる事が難しいのが残念です。
何個か購入してメモを挟むカニ等にして使用してみるのも楽しいでしょう。
