この作品はこれまでにリリースされた作品の中でも１、２を争うすばらしい出来だといえるだろう。
まったく捨て曲がないのがなによりうれしい点だ。
ＵＫシングルチャート２７位に入った「I Love You More Than Rock'n'Roll」をはじめ、「Amy's On The Run」や「Fade Into The Sun」「Together Or Apart」など、すぐにでもサンダーの代表曲になりうる佳曲が目白押しなのである。
また最後の日本盤ボーナストラックが「なぜこれがボーナスなのかわからない」というくらいすばらしい曲で最後まで楽しませてくれることは間違いない。
来日公演も決定しているのでこのアルバムを聴きながら彼らの真骨頂であるライブを楽しみに待つことにしよう。

Thunderを聴いたことの無い方へ
大人の哀愁を湛えたハードロックが好きな方は、聴いて損は無いと思います。

Thunderファンの方へ
エネルギッシュなハードロックアルバムという印象。そういう意味では「the thrill of it all」以降よりも、1枚目あるいは3枚目に近い。
ただし、「the thrill~」をこよなく愛する私でも非情に気に入ったものとなっています。なぜなら、Thunderならではの「哀愁」が随所にちりばめられているからです。
復帰作「Shooting At The Sun」では円熟味を感じましたが、今回は円熟味かつ若返りを感じることができて、非情に聴き応えのあるアルバムに仕上がっていると思います。特に5~8の流れは素晴らしい。
やっぱりこのバンドは安心して好きでいられます。祈・来日。

　スタジオ盤・通算7枚目。途中で解散~復活の空白期間がありましたが、デビュー15周年、ですか。もともとTHUNDERは、主要メンバーが在籍した前身的バンドTERRAPLANEから派生したバンドなので、1stアルバムからして“中堅”な雰囲気もありましたが。　雑誌等では、本作は1st的だ、との評価がありました。流石にデビュー当時のようなハツラツさはありませんが、確かに楽曲の質感は初期を想起させます。何より、楽曲自体が粒揃いなのが嬉しいです。　シングル・ヒットした1は、多少カントリー風味ギターのイントロが印象的な、哀愁感のあるミドル・テンポなロック佳曲です。続く23、及び6は、2ndアルバム的なザックリとした重めのギター・リフ中心の曲です。　57は、彼らならではの、ヘヴィ・リフの上を哀愁感たっぷりのメロディが疾駆する名曲で、本作もこの辺りからテンションが上がっていきます。　THUNDER得意のバラード調48は、彼ららしい悲しげなメロディを、Daniel Bowesの絶品Vo.とLuke Morleyの泣きのG.が、力強く盛り上げる名曲で、特に8は彼ら自身も気に入っています。　軽快な9、何となくZZ TOP風な10も佳曲で、割りにマイナー調の楽曲が並ぶ本作にあって、良い起伏を与えています。　（マニアの間では話題らしい）Russ Ballardと共作した11は、悪くは無いのですが、「まあまあ」。それよりも、感動的に盛り上がっていくボーナス曲12は、かなり良い曲です。何故これが日本盤ボーナス？実に勿体無い話です。　やはりTHUNDERといえば、“Luke Morleyのオーソドックスながらツボを心得た楽曲を、Daniel Bowesのハスキーで多少暑苦しい（？）Vo.が熱唱する”ということ。（勿論、この2人によるBOWES&MORLEY名義のアルバムもありますが、確信的にTHUNDERとは若干毛色の違う曲を収録しています。）　渋くてポップな楽曲の数々。ポップなんだけど、何となく明るくなりきれない、そこが実に英国的。確かに時流には乗っていない音ですが、じっくり楽しみたい普遍で素晴らしいロック作品です。
