バーンスタインの「春の交響曲」は名器ヴィーン・フィルを存分に鳴らした濃厚で雄弁なシューマン。陰影とフモールに富んでいる。名盤中の名盤。

「子供の情景」はケンプじいさんのカチッとした音で古典的かつロマン的な定評のある演奏。「よく語る音楽」。中々こうは弾けません。

「チェロ協奏曲」はどちらかというと暗くて重い音楽だが、ロストロポーヴィッチとロジェストヴェンスキーのコンビで実に本質を突いた演奏。録音はやや古いが名演だ。

シューマンの「幻想曲ハ長調」「アラベスク」については文句のつけようのない完璧主義の使徒ポリーニの名盤で。これほどの名盤は彼としても再現できないのではないか。

唯一疑問符がつくというとアバド指揮ベルリン・フィルとの共演となった「ピアノ協奏曲イ短調」だろうか。ポリーニのピアニズムに批判の入る余地はない。問題はやや締りのないオーケストラ。ピアニッシモの部分は実にニュアンス豊かなのだが、メゾ・フォルテからフォルテ部分の統率力に関しては「一糸乱れぬ」とは行かないのだ。日本の評論家からは絶賛の嵐だったが、私の周囲のポリーニファンからは「オーケストラがねえ。フルトヴェングラー的カリスマでもあれば別だが」という声がしきり。

とはいえ以上縷々述べたように全体として歴史的名演奏揃いなので、買って損をすることは絶対にないでしょう。購入を強くお勧めいたします。（私はアマゾンやＤＧの回し者ではありません!(^^)!）
