パンクであり、ポップであり、アグレッシヴであり、曲によってはフォーキーなテイストもあったり、手の内が広い。がいずれの曲も素朴さが魅力か。初回生産分は映画『ZOO』の主題歌である「奇跡」の、プロモーション・ビデオ収録のDVD付き。

感覚が鋭い人ほど現実世界に飽きたらず、インナー・スペースの深遠に旅立つものだ。心の淵に這わせたアンテナはしだいに根を伸ばし、自分だけの幻想を花開かせる。映画のサントラを数多く書き下ろしながらも、相変わらずな主張の強さと色褪せない情熱が眩しいTHE BACK HORNのアルバム4作目。(3)や(5)などのシングル曲では、情景を描き出すことに慣れた鮮やかな展開が目立つが、歌謡曲譲りの劇的なメロや熱っぽい言葉でいかに想像をかきたてようとも、彼らの骨格を成すグランジ顔負けの重低音が殺伐とした空気を震わせながら圧し掛かり、生ぬるい幻想に浸ることを許さない。お気に入りの音楽を流せば、瞬時にマイ・ワールドへ飛び込めるヘッドフォン。しかし、がっちりと頭に装着したそれは他人への拒絶のしるしでもある。皮肉にも自分たちの作るものがそこから流れていることに気づいたTHE BACK HORNの迷いのないこの音が、現実や幻想という枠組みを超えて個の保ち方を教えてくれる。 (周東香里) --- 2005年04月号

僕が初めて「THE BACK HORN」と出会ったアルバムです。
聴いたときは衝撃でした。心に響くような歌声と歌詞。
聴き終わるととても気持ちが良いです。以来僕はほとんどこれしか聴いてません。
是非試しに聴いてみてください。
個人的には「奇跡」と「夢の花」がお気に入りです。

「運命複雑骨折」を聴いた時はとても衝撃を受けた。
何故こんなにも殺気立ち、自己批判めいた曲を書けるのだろうか、と。彼らはあまりにも
音楽に対し真摯すぎるのだ。「歌わなきゃ気が狂いそうさ」の一節にそれが集約されている。
あらゆる負の感情や迷いに押し潰れそうになりながらも、最終的に「キズナソング」「奇跡」へと
辿りつく一連の流れに鳥肌を覚えた。

今までで1．2を争うくらいのお気に入りになりました。
今まであたしがTHE BACK HORNからうけるイメージは"暗闇に浮かぶ一筋の光"でした。
この作品は"暗闇の中で光る蝋燭の灯火"のようでした。
表紙(＋歌詞カード)の白と黒のコントラストも素敵です。
いつもより白が活きているところが、中身を表しているような気がします。

何というか、おどろおどろしい曲は少なかったように思います。
個人的には"旅人"と"奇跡"がお気に入りです。
