恋愛コメディでカンフーモノでワイヤーアクションでCGも使っていて、サービス精神旺盛な映画です。
個人的には大のお気に入りなんですが、多分全ての人に面白いとは薦められません。
出演俳優が好きな人、あるいは「恋愛コメディ」「カンフー」「ワイヤー」「CG」この組み合わせに少しでも興味を持った人でしたら、試しに手を出してみてください。

あ、そうだ。出演している女優さんがみんな可愛くて元気なので、それだけでもオススメかも。

格闘王というイカついタイトルとは裏腹に内容はほとんどラブコメ。
格闘シーンよりも、むしろラブコメが主体で、タイトルも格闘王なんてせずに、恋愛王とかにすれば良かったのでは？と思えるほどです。

内容は、清涼飲料水のメーカーの企画で武術ナンバー1を決める武道大会が開かれることとなり、その目玉として30年前に少林寺より離反し、日本で天竜拳を伝えるセクと少林寺を対決させることとなった。しかし、セクは年を理由に娘のアンナを出場させることとなり、アンナは会社の使いで誘いに来たケン（イーキン）に勝手に一目惚れで、恋人気分。ケンもまんざらでは無かったが、国では実は婚約者で上司の娘が待っており、苦しい二股劇の予感が・・・。

冒頭、日本にケンが来てセクを武道大会に勧誘する為、食事ということで何故か夜のオフィス街（？）にポツンと開く、屋台のラーメン屋で一緒に食事するシーンがあるのですが、周りに誰もいないゆえ、なんとも異様な光景に映りました。

問題の格闘シーンですが、チープなCG効果とワイヤーアクションで、アニメのようというか、格闘ゲームのような雰囲気。
様々な流派が集い、ナンバー1を決める大会なのに、いきなりくじ引きで割り振られ一斉に試合をするので、活躍できず（画面にほとんど映らず）に終わる選手の立場が・・・。
おまけに、肝心な試合のアクションシーンがCG効果を多様したゲームチックで大味なので、香港映画だからと過大な期待は危険です。

イーキン・チェンが出ているからといって、千葉真一が悪役で熱演した映画「風雲ストームライダーズ」のような華麗でかっこいいシーンはなく、ただの優柔不断の二股男で、試合をプロデュースする立場といういまいち情けない役どころなので、ファンは観ない方がいいかも？

父親が日本語で娘が広東語、これで普通に家族の会話ができてます。
このオソマツな設定をみても解るように、映画全体のレベルもすごく低いです。

一緒に見た家族は「マンガみたい」と言いましたが、マンガ好きの僕としては「マンガはもっとレベルが高い」と言いたいです。
