なんともオトナのギア様に会える一枚です。
とっても複雑な人たちが出てきて、人間模様も面白い。
ギア様の演じる弁護士もこれもなかなかのつわもの。
どんでん返しの繰り返しのような印象も残るが、
こういう人もいて、もしかしたら私の隣のこの人も？
なんて思いながらみると結構楽しめるかも。
深い怖さが残る一枚。

エドワード・ノートンのあり得ないくらいの演技力が主演のリチャード・ギアよりも目立ってしまう映画です。何度見たか覚えていないくらい見ました。ネタばれはしたくないので内容に関する言及は避けますが、ノートンの演技力は化け物じみていること請け合いです。
William Diehlの小説が原作ですが、こちらは本編に続く作品が２作あります。
Show of evil(邦題：邪悪の貌)、Reign in Hellと続いていきます。どちらも素晴らしいです。僕にとっては本作は忘れられない映画、小説は忘れられない３冊となりました。

想定外な出来事目白押しの大変面白い映画だった。映画を観つつ常に、さてどうなるのかな〜と、頭を動かしなら観た。しかし、全く予想外の出来事が起こり、最後は背筋がスーと寒くなった。起こってしまった出来事があまりに取り返しがつかなかったので。そして、リチャード・ギア演じる弁護士が受ける衝撃が大きすぎて。結末が恐ろしすぎた。最後のオチを見破ったつもりで観ていた自分は、いい具合に騙されていたので、最後に強烈なショックを受ける事になった。おかげでとても印象に残る映画になった。若きリチャード・ギアとエドワード・ノートンの演技はすごいの一言！だいぶ昔のえいがだけど、いやはや面白かったぁ〜。
