ＵＫ盤でこの発売形態はＢＧＯレーベルだろう。特にリマスターと謳ってはいないが、いつも適切なリマスターが施されている。発売前から五つ星をつけるのは、それもある。

この２作は、このグループの歴代ギタリストの中では知名度で１、２を争うジョー・ウォルシュ（のちにイーグルス加入）とトミー・ボーリン（ビリー・コブハムとも共演、のちにディープ・パープルに加入）の間に在籍したドメニク・トロイアーノの時代の作品だ。
ウォルシュは「ウォーク・アウェイ」のヒットを飛ばし、このグループの文字通りの「顔」だったし、ボーリンも悪くなかったが、私はこの時代が一番好きだ。

南部風味の渋いロック。派手さはないが、実にきめ細やかなプレイ・スタイル。「静かな情熱」を感じさせる、巧みな曲作り。特に1から2に移る瞬間のスリルは、今聴いてもゾクゾクするほどだ。

以前One Wayから出ていたＣＤは収録レベルが低く、早々にリマスターされたウォルシュ時代の作品と並べて聴くと、明らかにショボかっただけに、これは楽しみだ。

大学生の時、何かの拍子にこの２作のレコードを一緒に買った。全く期待していなかったが、針を落とした途端、自分の探していた音がこんなところにあったのか、ぶっ飛んだ。究極のサザンロック。これが男だというロイ　ケナーのボーカル。悲しげなトロイアーノのギター。哀愁の
メロディ。そこからウォルシュの時代にさかのぼつた。逆の意味でぶっ飛んだ。何だこのへなへなのボーカルは。何だこの大雑把なギターは。
ウォルシュがいなくて良かったと正直に思った。james gangはこの２作の前にも後にも、自分の中では存在しない。３年前リマスターされていないこの２作のｃｄをアメリカのサイトから買ったけど、レコードの方
がまだましだった。このｃｄは丁寧なリマスタリングが施されており、
ぜひ聞いてほしい一枚です。
