 『ゴースト』でアカデミー賞をとったウーピー・ゴールドバーグが、今度はコメディーに挑戦した。92年、全米で6か月を超えるロングランを記録した大ヒット作である。
   殺人現場を目撃してしまったクラブ歌手のデロリスは、ギャングに命をねらわれるはめになる。デロリスが身を隠した場所は、お堅い修道院。最初はおとなしく隠れていたが、聖歌隊のリーダーになって本領を発揮。ヘタクソなコーラスがソウルやロックのリズミカルな賛美歌に変わり、街中で評判になってテレビ中継までされてしまった。だが、それにギャングが気づかないわけがない。デロリスの無事は…。
   敬けんなシスターたちが、デロリスの指揮にのせられてノリノリでゴスペルを歌う姿は、まさにアメリカ発のゴスペルの奥の深さを実感できるシーンだ。最後はちょっとほろりとするヒューマンコメディーでもある。（梅澤眞由美）

地上波放送でも何度もやっているので、結末も分かっているのですが、
それでも何度も見てしまうし、何度見てもおもしろいのです。
DVDなのにここまで安くなると思いませんでした。

ウーピー･ゴールドバーグのキャラクターのおもしろさもそうですが、
シスターも本当によくて、下手だった歌がうまくなっていく姿は必見です。
特に歌のシーンは何度も繰り返してみてしまいます。

もう何回も見たコメディの秀作。ウーピー・ゴールドバーグという女優はとても個性的で、知的で、演技も抜群、素晴らしい女優ですね。ギャングから逃げて紛れ込んだのが修道院なわけですが、修道女たちのキャラクターも面白い。とりわけ、院長を演じるマギー・スミスはさすがです。ウーピーが演じる歌手が修道女たちの合唱指導を引き受け、正統派ではないゴスペルに取り組み、徐々にうまくなっていくプロセスが楽しい。ストーリーとしてはシンプルですが、これが意外と飽きない。個性豊なキャスティングと音楽の力でしょうか。買うほどでもないかと思っていましたが、ここまで安くなったら、買うしかないかなと、予約しました。

何度観ても楽しめる作品。
展開が分かっているのに、同じ所で笑ってしまう。同じ所で元気づけられてしまいます。

主演女優の、大人の女性ならではの可愛さ、他の出演者の笑顔も素敵。
聖歌隊のおばあちゃんシスターがとても可愛いです。

ずっとDVDを買おうと思っていましたが、ここまで安くなってくれるなら、中古なんか買わずに新品を購入したいと思いました。
