千住明は一つの作品の劇伴音楽を作るときにほとんど必ず一定のトーンにします。それは悲しいと決めてしまえば、明るい中にも切なさを混ぜるし、健やかと決めれば騒々しい中にもあるタイプの健全さを織り込むのです。

ですから、彼のＣＤを2，3枚買ってみても全貌が見えてきにくいのです。

そこでこのベスト版ＣＤです。ここにはそのトーンが、色調の違う曲がだくさん入っています。これを最初から最後までかけておくだけで、この人の目指すところがわかるでしょうし、結果として次のＣＤをかおうかどうか、自分の好みに合ったトーンで作ろうとしているかわかるでしょう。

ベスト版ではなくガイド版としてしまいたいような一枚。

大河ドラマの楽曲も作曲されている千住明さんのCDを初めて購入しました。

今回、このCDを購入したのはTBS系テレビで放送中の「夢の扉」のテーマ曲「Next Door」を聞きたかったからですが、同じ産業ドキュメント系番組であったNHKの「プロジェクトＸ」のテーマ曲、中島みゆきさんの「地上の星」がマイナー曲調であり、また現在放送中の「プロフェッショナル 仕事の流儀」のテーマ曲、スガ　シカオさんの「Progress」が（ちょっと屈折した）中間調であるのに対し、この「Next Door」が似た番組コンセプトとテンポでありつつも、より前向きなメジャー調なのは、時代の風を反映しているのかなと感じました。

私がこの曲を初めて聞いたのは「夢の扉」の短い番組紹介だったのですが、一度聞いただけで気になり、ウェブ検索で調べてCDを購入しました。導入部から転調までは親愛なるハ長調、進行にしたがって打ち方を細かく変化させるスネアドラムが端切れの良いリズムを作っています。

このCDには、「Next Door」のほかにも叙情的で共感性の高い楽曲が数多く収録されており、気分の高揚のみならず、仕事のBGMとして適していると感じています。石油、ビール、電機、通信事業など、さまざまな産業分野各社のCM曲のほか、有名なテレビ番組や映画のテーマ曲などメッセージ性が高く、感情移入してホロリとするような楽曲も多く、私としては「買って良かった」一枚だと思います。

今後、同分野でこの方と双璧を成していくのは久石譲さんくらいと思います。リスナーとして楽しみにしています。

つい先日、千住明さんの講演会での話を聞いて、人柄とか考え方に惹かれてその日に注文しました。どれも心に響く曲ばかりで、講演会で言っていた彼が目指している世界が広がっていると感じる一枚です。
「癒し系と言われる千住さんの曲の中でこれは一番とオススメの癒しの曲は何ですか」という質問に対して、「自分が作曲した曲は聞くとあれこれ考えてしまうので、全て自分にとっては全く癒しにならない。みなさんが癒されると思う曲がそうなのでしょう」と答えていました。つまり彼は癒しを目的に作っているのではなく、常に何かいつもメッセージをこめ、かつ同業者でないと気づかない凄い部分も盛り込んで作曲しているのでした。
朝、昼、真夜中、いつ聴いても良い一枚で、BGMにもなりますが、「宿命」などはじっくり落ち着いて聴いた方が感動します。
