5.0 out of 5 stars やっぱり世界の歌姫（古っ！）はマライアだ・・・と改めて感じさせられた。, 2005/3/16
正直リードシングル”It's Like That”には良くも悪くも驚きました。しかし、アルバムを聴いてみるとそれぞれの曲が同じR&Bでも様々なジャンルを取り込んでいて非常によかったです。特にセカンドシングルになる予定の”We Belong Together”は歌詞共にすばらしいです。
って一曲づつ紹介していくとキリがないんで（笑）まとめてしまうと、数々のラッパーをフューチャーしたhiphopナンバーの数々もマライアの歌い回しによって全く違う表情をもった曲になっていました。最新のサウンドのものから80年代を思わせるものまで、、、。
あと彼女のトレードマークであるバラード、今回は多少FunkやJazzを思わせるようなリズムにのって歌い上げています。なにか新しいバラードというものを聴けたような気がします。こういうバラードならチャートも昇リうるような気が・・・。声の伸びもかなりよく、例の７オクターブが堪能できるんですが、パワーヴォーカルとは別にButterflyごろから挑戦している強弱つけた歌いまわしがぴったりはまっている曲が何曲かありました！
最後に、前作”Charmbrecelet”は移籍後初作お手並み拝見って感じで控えめなサウンドであったのに対し、今回はヴォーカル共に力強く攻撃的で、聞いたら買わずにいられない一枚でした。日本版だけ入っている”secret love”はやく聞きたい！

女優業の不調、CD売り上げの不調などから散々バッシングを
受けた９０年代の歌姫、Mariah Carey。
そんな彼女が数年ぶりにインターバルを置いてリリースしたのが
この"Emancipation of Mimi"
1st.SingleのIt's Like Thatは気持ちの良いダンストラックで久々
に全米２０位以内に入る快挙。
しかしなんと言っても今すごいのがWe Belong Together。GWEN STEFANI
のノリノリチューン"Hollaback Girl"を押しのけて全米１位をついに
獲得。ゆったりとしたバラードに彼女特有の高音があいまって非常に
素晴らしい曲となっている。
昔からのファンも、新しいリスナーもみんなが楽しめる、それがこの
NEW ALBUM"The Emancipation of Mimi"なのだ。

マライアの歌声は「バタフライ」から遠ざかっていました。
「チャームブレスレット」や「グリッター（でしたっけ？）」も知らないまま月日は流れ、何だか急に思い立ってこのＣＤを買ってしまいました。
私は好きな音楽しか聴かない素人です。
難しいことは語れません。
正直あまり期待せず聞いたのですが・・・
何回聞いても飽きない！新鮮！
マライアから遠ざかっていた人にこそ聞いて欲しい１枚です。
