　前シングル『サマーナイトタウン』がロング・ヒットを記録し、人気グループとなった「モーニング娘。」。3rd.シングルは初のチャート1位を獲得し、この曲で紅白歌合戦に初出場した。
　歌謡曲的な歌いやすさとモダンなビートで、ちょっぴり背伸びした少女のラヴ・ストーリーを描いてみせる。特にラップ調の所で顕著な「意地っ張りな」性格は、ツイン・リードの1人：福田明日香をイメージした感じだ。
　元々、「女シャ乱Q」を選ぶオーディションから生まれたグループなので、特に初期は、夜を思わせるセクシーで本格的な作風をしていた。福田明日香はグループ最年少ながら、工藤静香や相川七瀬の曲を、時に本物以上に歌いこなす実力派で、引退した現在でも復帰を望む隠れファンがたくさん居る。
　本シリーズは『モーニング娘。EARLY SINGLE BOX』発売に際し、旧シングルにボーナス曲を追加し、リマスタリングしたもの。この3rd.シングルでは『モーニング刑事(コップ)。』に収録の「抱いてHOLD ON ME(セクシー・ロング・ヴァージョン)」が追加収録されている。
　今のハッピーでノリノリの楽曲が好きな人には勧めないが、シャ乱Qの作風が好きな人なら、その「女ver.」として十分に聴けるはず。
