本作は後にロック界の大物になっていくD.クロスビーの作曲能力が開花し始めたバーズの代表作の一つである。前作でも曲を提供しているが、後のクロスビーの個性を感じさせる点においては、本作が殻を破ったものであると思う。
｢ルネサンス･フェアー｣｢マインド・ガ−デン」｢燃えつくせ！｣の各曲はCSN時代を通じても彼の代表作になりえる歌曲であろう。
本作はそれに留まらず、クリス･ヒルマンもかなり作曲に貢献している。
クロスビーほど個性は感じられないが、マッギンとは異なる軽妙なロックを提供しているので、アルバム全体がポップで分かり易く仕上がっている。そしてディラン師の歌曲が決定打をかます。バーズの初期における名作と言えるだろう。

この曲を聴くとどうしようもなく胸が締め付けられます。
いつ聴いても。
個人的にはバーズで一番思い入れの強い曲です（メンバー外の人物の作詞曲にもかかわらず・・・・）。

アルバムトータルで考えるとどうしても「The Notorious Byrd Brothers」にその完成度を譲りますが個々のいくつかの曲においては決して勝るとも劣らない素晴らしいできばえを誇るアルバムであると思います。

４枚目の作品。
初期バーズを聴くならこのアルバムと
ファースト「ミスタータンブリングマン」をお勧めします。
実験的なサウンドが多かった前作に対して、
今作品は再びディランのカバーを取り入れ、
目立たなかったクリス・ヒルマンが楽曲を提供するなど
（2曲目Have You Seen Her Faceは最高！）
オリジナルも佳曲が並びバランスの良い仕上がりになってます。
ロジャー・マッギンが中心になり、デヴィッド・クロスビーとクリス・ヒルマンが
しっかり脇を固めているような感じです。
しかしながら、この年はジミヘンやドアーズのデビュー、
ビートルズ「サージェクト・ぺパーズ」等と話題作が多く、
その中に埋もれてしまった感があったようで、
チャートも最高位24位と商業的にはあまり振るわない作品になってしまいました。
