春です。桜が満開です。そこで春につきものの桜をテーマにした曲ばかりを17曲集めたとてもステキなコンピレーション・アルバムを見つけました。

選曲が泣かせます。キャンディーズ「春一番」、南沙織「春の予感」、矢野顕子「春咲小紅」 、ＥＰＯ「う，ふ，ふ，ふ」、桑江知子「私のハートはストップモーション」、松田聖子「赤いスイートピー」、田山雅充「春うらら」、中島みゆき「春なのに」、よしだたくろう「春だったね」、井上陽水「東へ西へ」、ふきのとう「春雷」、村下孝蔵「初恋」、山口百恵「愛染橋」、岩崎宏美「春おぼろ」、太田裕美「たんぽぽ」、Ｎ．Ｓ．Ｐ．「八十八夜」、サーカス「夢で逢えたら」です。このラインナップは完璧ですね。1970年代のヒット曲の中から選んでおり、テーマにもピッタリの曲ばかりですから。

これらの歌を聴きながら青春を送った私にとって、それぞれの曲には懐かしくて大切にしている思い出が一杯詰まっており、走馬灯のように流れていく満開の桜のシチュエーションとこれらの曲がリンクするとそのまま過去へタイム・スリップしていきそうです。

どの曲にも共通しているのは、明確なメッセージを持った歌詞と印象に残るメロディとハーモニー、そして涙がでるようなステキなミュージャンによる歌唱。なんて幸せな時代に音楽を聞き続けてきたのか、と思いたくなるような曲ばかりです。

フォークもニューミュージックも歌謡曲もポップスにも入るような曲集ですが、春の桜を横軸にとり、1970年代を縦軸にとったマトリックスの企画の勝利だと言えるでしょう。

春は別れと出会いの季節です。限られた世代にしかこの良さは伝わらないかも知れませんが、世代を超えた感情を共有できる曲ばかりですので多くの人にお勧めします。
