5.0 out of 5 stars ジュリーが歌う阿久悠さんの世界を堪能したい方に, 2007/8/14
阿久悠さんの訃報にあたり、このアルバムを多くの人に知って頂きたい気持ちが強くなりました。今までは正直、個人的には相当好きなアルバムではあったのですが、他人に勧めるのは控えてきたのです。ポリドール時代、しかもセールス絶頂期のジュリーの作品としては、明らかな異色作で、好き嫌いの別れるアルバムかとずっと思っていました。
何が異色かというと、ジュリーの歌唱、大野克夫の作曲、ともに阿久悠さんの詞に完全に引っ張られているのです。詞が主役…というか、阿久さんの使うフレーズが豪華、多彩。歌謡曲でそれはアリなのか？みたいな単語が突然飛び出したり、言葉の組み合わせが過激だったり、歌詞を追って聴いていると、とにかく展開が読めない。この頃のジュリーは歌番組の看板で、子供のファンも多かった筈ですが、このアルバムは小中学生にとってはワケわからなかったのではないでしょうか。
シングルは「LOVE〜抱きしめたい」。この曲、ジュリーのシングルの中でも、歌の物語の主人公のダメージ度がかなり高い詞かと思いますが、このアルバムではそれでも結構軽い方なのです。
ダメージ度の高い順に「思い出を作るために愛するのではない」「雨だれの晩歌」「薔薇の門」「赤と黒」を推薦します。そんな中で僅少なポップ路線（それでも歌詞中にはスゴイ単語が出てきますが）の「TWO」「アメリカン・バラエティー」「サンセット広場」も光っていて、かなり好きですが。
ジュリーのみならず、阿久悠さんの傑作として、強くお勧めします。

先のアルバム「思いきり気障な人生」よりも遥かに気障なアルバム。
とにかく完成度が高い。
ジャケットも「男・沢田研二」を十二分に発揮してくれています。
曲のバランスも上手く出来ているし、音も良い。
そして沢田研二の、艶のある高音・低音が完璧なまでに発揮されてる。
沢田研二が作り出す”大人の男の世界”、”バラード”を思う存分堪能したい人におススメ。
アルバムの中で、見事なドラマも作り上げています。

とにかくカッコイイ！

一人の男の人生を何章かに分けてシャッフルした、小説のようなＣＤ。
男の愛と哀しみと嘆きと喜びがすべて詰まっている。
出会いの喜びを歌い、愛の覚悟をきめ、別れの予感におののき、居酒屋で語っているのは年老いた主人公なのか、それとも聞き手なのか、どちらともとれる深い内容。
別れたあとひとりサンセット広場で若い少女を見つめる男。
聞き込むほどに素晴らしい歌詞とメロディー。
４０代のジュリーに歌ってもらえたらと、叶わぬ願いを抱きつつ聞いています。
