ジュリーが「勝手にしやがれ」を歌っていた頃、私は２歳でした。大人になってジュリーのかっこよさに気がついたときには、もう昔の曲のＣＤなどどこにもありませんでした。しかし、今回復刻盤が出ることになり、中でも「勝手にしやがれ」「憎みきれないろくでなし」「あなたに今夜はワインをふりかけ」といった大ヒットソングが入ったこの「思いきり気障な人生」を手に入れることができ、本当にうれしいです。ジュリーファンでなかった母が、ＣＤを聞いて思わず口ずさんでいたくらいですから。

「思いきり気障な人生」

アルバムタイトルに負けない気障な男の歌が次々と流れ、最後に「ママ…」で完結させるストーリー性は完璧。
・・・なハズなのに、何処か統一感が感じられない。
そして、ヒット曲満載のアルバムなのに、そのヒット曲の存在感も相殺状態。
1曲1曲を聴けば、どれも良い歌なのに、何故こんな出来上がりになってしまったんだろう？

とは言え、あくまでも「沢田研二」のアルバムの出来としてはどうなの？！と言うものであり、
「HIT曲を中心に沢田研二の世界に入ってみようかな？」と言う人にはおススメのアルバムであるには変わりは無い。
このアルバムを聴けば、自ずと数あるアルバムの何処から攻めていこうかな（笑）と言うのが見えてきます。

色んな意味で、このアルバムは沢田研二・ジュリーを知っていく為の羅針盤。

初めて買ったジュリーのアルバムがこれでした。
大ＨＩＴした「勝手にしやがれ！」は、最高にカッコ良かったです。
当時バーボンは近所の酒屋には置いていなくて、わざわざ日本橋・三越まで買いに行きました。
私が好きな曲は「2.あなたに今夜はワインをふりかけ」前記「6.勝手にしやがれ」「7.サムライ」「8.ナイフをとれよ」ですが、中でも「サムライ」はシングルカット版とはアレンジが違います。アルバム版の方がドラマチックで好きです。

沢田研二は日本が生んだ天才シンガーでしょう。もっと高く評価されてもいいはずです。徳永某がボーカリストを語るなら我らがジュリーは紛れもなくシンガーです。
