あまりにも有名なウッドストック・セッションの模様を収めた1枚です。ウッドストックの音源に関しては、数年前にCD1枚にコンパクトに収められた音源とビデオがセットで発売されて、それなりに話題になりましたが、本作は恐らく（恐らくというのは、真偽のほどが誰にもわからないという意味です）、フルに近い形での収録と考えていいでしょう。
ご存知の方も多いと思いますが、この音源はかなり昔に「Woodstock Nation」というタイトルのブートレクで出回っていまして、いまとなっては特別に新味はありません。「Woodstock Nation」は海賊盤ということもありましたが、音質もコモリがちで構成も散漫で、ウッド・ストックに対する個人的な思いが一挙に冷めてしまった苦い思い出があります。また、ほぼ同時期の「バンド・オブ・ジプシーズ」に比べると、演奏自体のクオリティーはお世辞にも良好とは言えません。恐らく体調が良くなかったのでしょう。サワリだけを聴きたい人は1枚組みの「Woodstock」を聴けば十分だと思います。本作品は当日の全貌（恐らく）を時代を飾ったドキュメントとして所有したい人向けです。
といいつつも「星条旗よ永遠なれ」はいつの時代に聴いても衝撃的です。
