2005年に惜しくも来日キャンセルとなってしまった孤高の歌姫ダイアナ・ロスの重量級のパーフェクトベストである。既に60歳過ぎているが彼女を指示する声は後を絶たないほどカリスマ性を誇っている。数多くのシンガー達が彼女の楽曲をサンプリングのネタに使うことからも察しがつくだろう。
この作品はビートルズに唯一対抗できるエンターテインメントグループとして人気のあったシュープリームス時代の10曲を超える全米ナンバー1ヒットは網羅されているし、ソロデビュー後も立て続けに放った全米ナンバー1ヒットや数々の名曲も勿論網羅。9週間も全米1位を独走したライオネル・リッチとのデュエットＥＮＤＬＥＳＳ　ＬＯＶＥは収録されているが、それ以降の80年代にモータウンを離れた時期は未収録（ビージーズやマイケル・ジャクソンとのコラボレートもあるのだが）。つまり80年代半ばのキャリアを抜かした、デビューから現在までのモータウン時期のベストアルバムだと捉えていただければよいだろう。
ちなみに、80年代のモータウン以外の時期の作品は2005年にデジタルリマスタリングされて再発されたので、低価格のため興味があればこれと一緒にご購入されればよろしいと思う。
