その歌世界に日本的な哀愁を感じさせるところが、この人ならではの魅力でもあるのだろう。もしかするとこれは、エンヤやクラナドなどのケルト音楽にも通じる世界なのかもしれない。基本的に彼女の書く曲はミディアム・バラードが多いけど、このニュー・シングルでは、羽毛田丈史による編曲により、本人の奏でるピアノの音が繊細に配置されていて、彼女がさらにのびのびと歌えているのが印象的だ。清楚なビジュアル・イメージがまた聴き手の心を和ませるのだろうけど、同時に等身大の“柴田淳”というひとりの人間をも感じさせる。 (高橋宏文) --- 2005年03月号

やられました。あまりの美しさにやられました。

メロディーが美しい。歌詞も美しい。もちろん柴田さんのヴォーカルも美しい。そして、本作をプロデュースしている羽毛田丈史氏のアレンジも流石。癒しなんてものじゃなく、救われる感じがします。

始まりは何もない、真っ白な世界。それをひとりびとりが自分の世界としてつくっていかなければならない。「僕の足跡がいつかこの世に空を描き街になるまで」。自分は何者だろう？という問いを抱えながら、自分が生きていてもいいのかわからなくても、「僕の足跡は一歩ずつの細い道を描き続ける」。

一度じっくり聴いてみると、気がつくと何度も何度もリピートしていました。しばらく現実を忘れてしまうほど美しい歌です。是非、多くの方に聴いていただきたいです。

カップリングの「終電」は切ない恋愛の歌。終電が行ってしまえば、帰れなくなる。「帰りたくない」なんて言えないから、それを口には出せないけど心で叫んでいる。「胸が張り裂けそう」な気持ちがストレートに伝わってくるような曲です。

二曲とも、歌詞カードを見ながら聴くことをおすすめします。心が救われます。

どんな人間でも最初は心は白で成長してくと共にいろんな色に染まっていくそして、ふと自分の染まった色に振り返り白い世界に戻りたく、でも戻れない染まった色を悔いながらも持ってる夢に一歩一歩進んで行こう。と僕はこの詩を解釈して元気を貰っています。本当にいい曲です。淳さん良い曲をありがとう。

彼女の魅力は何と云っても声の伸び。
透明感溢れる声質は本当に綺麗。
真っ直ぐなメロディと、印象的な詞が
とても声と合ってて素敵です。

「白」という始まりを歌ったこの曲。
自分の歩いていく道、生きている理由
を全て肯定してくれるような唄です。
自分の存在理由を問い、悩みながらも
前向きに生きていく。という歌詞と、
美しいメロディは本当に生きるエネル
ギーになりますよ!!
自然と泪が出そうになります。
