今春に立命館大学の卒業を控え、音楽活動のスピード・アップが予想される倉木麻衣の2005年第1弾シングル。リリースされたばかりのライヴDVDを観ていても感じたのだが、歌いっぷりが(ルックスも)いきなり大人っぽくなったような気がする。ブラック・ミュージックの要素を薄く取り入れ、気持ちのいいグルーヴを作り出す楽曲も、高いクオリティをキープ。決して感情に溺れることなく、さらりと聴けるヴォーカルも相変わらずで、どこを切り取っても“あ、倉木麻衣だ”とわかってしまう手堅い仕上がりはさすが。 (森朋之) --- 2005年02月号

ややR&Bよりな感じのグルーブ感で大人っぽい曲。
詩もストレートで分かりやすい。
タイトルからして　今までの倉木麻衣っぽくない感じ
（夢みる少女っぽさというより直接的なので）だと
感じましたが　私は前作より断然好きです。
10代でデビューして大人になった彼女が
今後どういった曲を歌っていくのかが楽しみです。
歌声・表現力も大人になったことをこの曲で感じました。

「明日へ架ける橋」より半年振りの待望のNEW SINGLEです。
初のベストアルバムツアー「Grow,Step by Step」から立命館大学の「メモリアルライブ」を経て、ぐっと大人っぽく歌唱力もアップした彼女の実力が伺える作品になっているようです！
昔は繊細かつ声量がすこし物足りない部分が歌唱力にみられましたが、
数々のライブを乗り越え、パワーをつけた歌唱力と観客を魅了する格好いいパフォーマンスを彼女は手に入れました！
この期待のNEW SINGLEでどう新展開を魅せてくれるかが楽しみです！

まだ曲を聴いていないときで、「Love,needing」というタイトルを最初に見たとき、瞬間的にデビューシングルの「Love,day after　tomorrow」が頭に浮かびました。「Love,」の一致は偶然ではなさそうで、意図があるのかな…と思って曲を聴いてみると、メロディーラインはデビュー曲とは違って落ち着いた感じ、だけどジャンルとしては「Love,day after　tomorrow」寄り。どう受け取るかは聴く人次第？でも個人的には原点を意識しているのかな、と感じました。
