ガンズ・アンド・ローゼス、AC/DC、レッド・ツェッペリンといったロックの大御所とエミネムをこよなく愛し、彼女の作品は伝統あるアメリカン・ロックのパワーとガールズポップの融合で、歌詞はリアルな彼女の意見が反映されている。アヴリルよりパンクに、グウェン・ステファニーをよりロックにした2005年ガールズポップ革命の中心人物。
アメリカのメディアは「アラニス（モリセット）がコカコーラならばRPMはジョルト・コーラだ！」と表現するほど歌詞の内容とパフォーマンスが刺激的で既存の女性SSWをひとまわりもふたまわりも魅力的にした存在。#1.GODDAMNIT、#3.DON’T BE YOUはそれぞれラジオでヘヴィーオンエアされビルボード誌の「numerous songwriting awards」を受賞した。本作「IRRATIONAL ANTHEM」の共同プロデューサーはフランク・ゲイナー（A Perfect Circle、Rob Zombie）。


アーティストについて

22歳のシンガーソングライター（以下SSW）＆ギターリスト。
アール・ピー・エムの由来は本名をイニシャル表記したもの。
米国ケンタッキー州の陸軍基地で生を受け、お隣のヴァージニア州で育ち、ニューヨーク大学を卒業した新生代女性SSW。ギター、ピアノで作詞/曲を行い、それ以外にもフルートやヴァイオリン、プロデュースもこなす天才肌。
わずか8歳で自ら作詞/曲した曲をプレイし、地元で話題の女の子になる。
現在は、主にロサンゼルスとニューヨークを中心にライヴ活動を行っている。

CDに「2005年世界は彼女を中心にまわりだす」と大げさなキャッチ・コピーをみつけて聴いてみたらビックリ！今まで聴いてたガールズ・ポップスの女の子とは一味も二味も違う衝撃を受けました。
ジャケットはアヴリル似なんだけどもっとロックしてます。
ボクの2005年のマスター・ピース候補No.1です。

正直、ガールズロックは詳しくないんですが、AvrilよりはKaty Roseに雰囲気近い。
なんだか表現しようとしてるものが比較的、同じ方向向いてるというか。

前面にはポップさを張り出しているのですが、聴き込むとなんとなく物悲しい。
夏が終わって秋に移った、くらいの季節の夕焼け空を連想させます。
最高！とはあえて言わないけど、聴く人によっては各曲に詰められた「空白」を感じ取る事ができるんじゃないでしょうか。

俺だけかもしれないけど。

ジャケットの見た目より、声が高いというか幼い感じに聞こえました。
４０分ちょっとで全部聴き終わってしまうので、もうちょっとボリュームがあってもよかったかな。
日本版のみとなってるボーナストラック１１ですが、輸入盤の曲目リストの中にもありました。
全体的には満足なアルバムでした♪
